An early morning fire left a beloved Northern Kentucky restaurant with substantial damages on Friday.
Heavy flames were seen coming from the roof of the Colonial Cottage restaurant on Dixie Highway at about 3:15 a.m.
The restaurant, owned by Matt and Noelle Grimes, has been operating since 1933.
Fire crews arrived and were able to put the flames out. No one was inside the building when the fire broke out, and no one was hurt, according to Erlanger Fire Chief Todd Whitaker.
Chris Billingsley, Colonial Cottage general manager, said after a hard year, things were seeming more hopeful which made waking up to this even harder.
