QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) — Cots, pillows and blankets were all laid out for those who need a warm place to stay in Quincy.
This week the city opened its cold weather shelter at the Ferolito Recreation Center.
Roscoe Newton, who lives in the city, helped make it happen.
He noticed the need and asked the city and churches to partner with him to get a shelter open.
"Mr. Newton brought the idea to me less than 48-hours ago that we do this because of these freezing temperatures," said Quincy Mayor Ronte Harris.
