And arresting drug dealers. San francisco has been through difficult times, but our hard work is paying off. Working together, were building a better future for the city we all love. Ad paid for by reelect mayor London Breed 2024. Financial disclosures are available at sfethics. Org. Told him so breaking news good morning. You are live in the Cnn Newsroom. Im Pamela Brown in washington. We just saw President Biden give his final speech to the United Nations, and he invoked his five decades of foreign Policy Experience and called on World Leaders to come together in the face of a series of Global Crises Biden called born end to Russias War on ukraine and renewed the push for a Ceasefire Deal as the Middle East stands on the brink of an allout war with Qatar And Egypt to cease Ceasefire And Hostage deal spent endorsed by the un Security Council now is the time for the parties of Finalizes Term bring the hostages home secure security for Israel And Gaza free of hamas script. Ease the suffering in Gaza And End this War Save and chief international Anchor Christiane Amanpour joins us now christiane, what stood out to you about president Bidens Speech . Well that was very strong and he said, both Israel And Gaza have been living in quote, hell for the last nearly a year. And he actually, as You Saw, really emphasized that it was time im now to take the necessary steps for peace very difficult to see how, given the second front thats been fully opened in the north of israel with hezbollah. But on the other hand, the speech was really a sweep of history of his 50 years in public service from when he first joined the congress in 1972, he talked about the coach Cold War is still being up now. Its down. He talked about the war in vietnam, dividing the united states. Now thats over and that really strong partners with vietnam. He talked about the threat of nuclear weapons, which then were tamp down by, by nuclear arms deals, kept saying that that had to continue. He went through a litany of what he what was happening right now in terms of we will not where he will not walk away from ukraine. As i said, he addressed the israel gaza situation. He then ended by coming back to the sweep of history and saying how he had made the preservation of democracy at home and abroad. The hallmark of his administration. And he looked out to that sea of World Leaders, many of whom are not democrats and have been empowered way longer than they should have been way beyond any mandate or term. And he said, remember, our constitution says, we, the people dont forget that we serve the people not the other Way Round and dont you know, dont, dont forget that the people are those who make any nation the strongest, any close by saying, we as a world in bringing Peace And Stability are stronger together and we must work together. So it was very interesting as his final speech and it was striking it as you talk about that moment, he used his own personal experience of stepping aside from the president from running for presidency for a second term, saying that there are things that are more important than power and that is you, the people when you watch him though, making this final speech to the un, you have to think he wanted to be talking about the fact that they had reached a Ceasefire Deal and a Hostage Release Deal by this point, to really cement his Foreign Policy legacy. That has not happened. Those talks are stalled. He said a diplomatic solution is still possible though but with how quickly things are escalating between Hezbollah And Israel is that even realistic christiane well, look, he doesnt look very bright from Here And Now and weve been on this socalled brink of a ceasefire for many, many weeks and months, the israeli people, by Vast Majorities ever since October 7, have said their priority is to bring their hostages so that is what the families want. Thats what the majority of the nation wants and this has not happened the only time it happened was through negotiation with hamas. Now, nearly a year ago, if you remember, at The End of november of last year. So they really want to end this. You also said they have to end the violence on the occupied west bank. And he again stress that there has to be a commitment to the twostate solution. This goes flying in the face of netanyahus policies and indeed his coalitions policy. But what he did say, which was super interesting was that he and the united states backed reform of the Security Council so that the United Nations can go back to what its meant to do that is broke a piece and suffering around the world and indeed stop nuclear war. I think theyre very frustrated that the Security Council is hostage to whoever wants to exercise a veto with his tight five membership in the permanent Security Council. So this speech was made in a very grim backdrop, but he kept saying that we World Leaders cannot afford to despair. We do not have that luxury. We have to work to make things better. As i say again, listed a litany of massive global crises throughout his 50 years, which he enumerated how then they had been solved by enlarge for the most part, and that this too can be with the goodwill and the willingness of all the parties concerned yeah. He talks about how its impossible until you make it happen. And certainly that is what he is hoping on this front. And im release. And of course, the war in ukraine, christiane amanpour. Thank you so much. And for more on this, cnns Alex Marquardt and Kayla Tausche joins us live from the un. Kayla to you first the expanding conflict between Israel And Hezbollah is now added to the agenda for these World Leaders. To discuss. Tell us about what pull asides were expecting today between biden and other World Leaders well, President Biden is going to be speaking with the Un Secretary general for all later today and hes hosting a reception for a bevy of World Leaders at the metropolitan museum of Art Tomorrow Night where It Ministry Officials tell me that now the escalating situation in the Middle East has been added to the top of the agenda, not only for President Biden, but also for the top dignitaries who are traveling with him and his team of envoys who have been shuttling back and forth from the region to try to reach this ever elusive Ceasefire Deal and keep the war from widening as it now has the President Biden did nod to the situation between Hezbollah And Israel, and he encouraged the two sides to reach a diplomatic solution, which he said is the only path. Heres what biden said hezbollah provoked during the October 7 attack launching rockets in israel almost a year later, two men, Eddie Side of it israeli Lebanon Border remain displaced fullscale war is not in Anyones Interest even in a situation has escalated a diplomatic solution is still possible. In fact, remains the only path to lasting security and while Thats Something his team has long been Working On, the escalation is casting a shadow over his and others engaged here in new york city. But i thought what was most interesting was the way that he tried to connect the atrocities that are happening today to the ark of history. And during his five plus decades kaids of service situations like the vietnam war, Apartheid In South Africa and the aftermath of 911 those were things or his time in government that were seeing as intractable and insolvable. And they ultimately went away. And he says we have to remember that things do get better. And he approach, Urge World leaders to take that position with them. I want to bring you and alex to get your perspective. I know you were listening closely to see what else the president might say when it comes to the war in gaza. We really didnt hear anything new on that front, but we do know that the u. S. Is sending additional troops and Middle East in the wake of whats happening now in lebanon, what else do we know about that . How many troops, what therell be tasked to do and what you think about the speech well, the pentagon has said that a small number of us troops are heading to the region is not clear what kind of troops or where exactly they be going, but certainly in the mediterranean region, presumably to help, of course, if there is further escalation, which now the u. S is fearing. This was always going to be a tough speech and a tough moment for President Biden, who wanted to focus on his accomplishments, wants to focus on what still needs to be done, wants to talk about all these global issues that need to be addressed by this global body and this general assembly was always going to good to focus a lot on the war in gaza. And now of course, you have this escalation in lebanon that his casting a shadow over all this and both Gaza And Lebanon really serve to highlight for so many here that the u. S. Has been unable to help get to a ceasefire, get to peace in gaza, and has failed to you get a diplomatic solution between Israel And Hezbollah, which they have been Working On alongside that Gaza Ceasefire for the past 11 months. So thats what i was really listening for in this speech. How President Biden thought he could move the ball forward. And he talked about the necessity for peace in both lebanon and in gaza. Talk about the need for The End of the war and for this, you and endorsed ceasefire in gaza to be put into place. But frankly, the devil is in the details of course, we dont we didnt hear too many details. We didnt hear from president the biden, how hes going to get this done. He just called on the parties to get it done, but pam, for all intents and purposes, the ceasefire in gaza, those talks are completely stuck and so us officials behind the scenes this week, while so many people are in town are going to try to get those unstuck, but it as even more difficult because of the escalation in in lebanon with israel ramping up their attacks against hezbollah. So it is unclear following this speech. And in this moment, as i stand here how, the u. S. Is trying to is going to try to get to those peace deals, try to get to the ceasefire is not on one front, but on two fronts. So we heard a speech with big broad, sweeping Themes Today that covered his entire career in foreign Policy And Hit on all the various issues of the day, but rather light on details tell us about how to tamp down these fires that are burning and growing across the Middle East and it was really fascinating to me how we brought up ai saying enough it presents possibilities are endless possibilities, as well as profound alex yeah, certainly that was thats one of the more forwardlooking party so of the speech, he doesnt want to he didnt want to necessarily get bogged down in only the Middle East, for example, are only ukraine, which frankly is something that hes proud of because for the past 2. 5 fears the u. S. Has sent billions and billions of dollars in both military and civilian aid to ukraine, but he had to, in this moment, even as his presidency is ending, talk about the path forward. Ai of course, is going to be such a transformational technology. Both for good and bad. You know, everyones trying to try to get it sense of both the positive and negative aspects of machine learning. But he also wanted to talk about climate change, talk about the competition with china and not just focus on the conflicts that are of course at the front of our minds with ukraine and the Middle East. But talk about the conflicts in sudan in haiti, and elsewhere so this was really a wide ranging speech one that was of course, very appropriate for one thats given in front of so many World Leaders peters and in this moment it was certainly one that he hopes will add to, or at least help form the capstone of his Foreign Policy. Ill see legacy, pamela, certainly, and it was also stuck out to me housing clearly at one part was speaking to the autocrats in the room and it comes to the fortunes of democracy and putting the people first Alex Marquardt, thank you so much for that. And still ahead while the war in israel, Gaza And Lebanon is the top priority of todays summit. Another important topic at the un this week, womens rights in afghanistan. Heres the actress Meryl Streep, calling attention to the issue on monday and today in kabul, a female cat has more freedoms than a woman a cat may go sit on her front stoop and feel the sun on her face she may chase a Squirrel Squirrel has more rights than a girl in afghanistan today because the public parks have been closed to women and girls by the taliban a bird may sing in kabul but a girl may not, and a woman may not. In public this is extraordinary. This is a suppression of the Natural Law this is odd well, the taliban rolled out a new set of restrictions on afghan women just last month as street mentioned, and some of those laws even include banning the sound of womens seguing or reading aloud in public. And my next guest is a refugee who fled afghanistan with her family in august in 2021 after using a special immigrant visa, i had the chance to sit down with her family a few months ago after they relocated to the states and she joins us now, sora jawwad, a sore i when i when i saw these comments by Meryl Streep, i thought immediately to call you because i know a few years ago we sat down together. You had just come to the us who were settling in you were at the time when you fled, you were in your third Year And Residency to become a Heart Surgeon in afghanistan. Think about that three years ago. And now you hear this and you see whats happening. What goes through your mind . What do you feel as you listened to Meryl Streep . There its its just heartbreaking, you know, its heartbreaking to see a women go through what theyre going through in afghanistan will somehow, it has been, it has been endless. It has been endless years of war, of domestic violence. And now this, that they are dealing with there are banned from education, theyre bad, theyre bands from walking out on the streets and its heartbreaking. Its all a woman can do its just stay home. I have family members, i have friends who were working doctors and their staying home now, just because theyre women, its very heartbreaking to see them like that bill educated woman will educated young girls and all they can do is just stay home couldve been, you that could have been me that could have been my daughter you have a sixyearold . I have a sixyearold daughter who is a fond of school. She loves school when i look at her and i think about where i was it frightens me, it frightens me. I look at her and i see that she could be one of those girls staying home, banned from education, ban from learning its very sad, its very heartbreaking. As i said, it has been endless years of suffering for afghan woman you barely got out of there, right rarely got out of there. It was just ten days before the collapse that we flood of ghanas stan. It was just ten days before i could have been there. I could have been one of the people stuck in there and just to go through some of the restrictions put in place on women and afghanistan since you fled. Again, banned from singing or raising their voices in public, required to be covered from head to toe when leaving home. And largely been confined to their home with almost no access to education work. You talk about your young daughter and how much she loves education and how she was there right now. She wouldnt be getting this education. She wouldnt be allowed to just go and live freely and live freely in the way that you have exactly. She wouldnt even be allowed to be a child that she is she couldnt go out in the park and play. She couldnt go go anywhere. She would just be stuck at home. She just so good home. The South Thing is that, you know, here we have the facilities, we have the opportunities. If you are staying home, you can still get classes online. Those Women In Afghanistan they dont even have that. They dont even have that. There are power shortages, they are Internet Charges that i talked to my family back home. I talked to my friends back home almost once. I once a month, once every two months, just because of these problems even even that opportunity is taken away from those woman, they cannot do anything. All they can do is just stay home if by any chance theyre required to go outside, they have to cover head to and all those Blackboard Cars and everything its just its just heartbreaking. And again, just to think that some of them are family members, some of them were were also doctors trained to be like they have their degrees, they have theyre masters, their ph. D. S. And theyre just at home. Theyre just staying home. And what do they say to you when you when you are able to reach them . Finally when when they get the connection, internet connection, what do they say to you . I mean, just a dramatic change in their lives. Getting their education going out living, becoming doctors, and now just being confined their homes. What did they say they are theyre just devastated. They are depressed. You can talk to them when you can realize how much this person is depressed. All they want to do is in most cases, when they talk to me, there like all i want to do as dei how much pressure you have to apply on a Human Being to just want to die. You know, thats, thats the only way out they can think thats the only way out they can think of and its very heartbreaking. Its very sad. When you talk to people who were once active members in the society who were doctors who are masters, who were, who were Working In Offices Ty ranks in military and police. All they want to do right now is just i mean, that is the only way out for them. Thats how much pressure as they are over there they dont see any light at The End of the tunnel, No Way Out with the taliban or you dont in control putting more and more restrictions on them. Honestly, i dont see any way out for them. I dont see any light not at all. Not at all. And that must be so sad as someone who was born and raised right . Its very sad and its very heartbreaking, and its very frightening when i think thank and i think that i could be back there i could be back there and i could be just stuck inside the house raising a child who is not even allowed to be a kid. Its just frightening, scary jawwad. Thank you for coming on and sharing your story with us and please keep in touch them. The best in bristol thank you so much. Thank you. Mom by morning. Got it. Got it. Boss. Daughter, youve got this. Were Rahel Solomon in new york, and this is cnn were turning to one of our top Stories Today at the United Nations. One of the key focuses of the general assembly is the alarming escalation of airstrikes between Israel And Hezbollah and lebanon this right here is southern lebanon, right near the border with israel. And Todays Exchange comes one day after israel targeted the Militant Group lebanese authorities say more than 550 people were killed and the deadliest day of strikes. And that country and nearly 20 years. And a short time ago, israel confirmed that it launched this airstrike in the southern suburbs of beirut. Israel calls a quote a targeted strike, joining us now from the United Nations, danny danon, israels ambassador to the un. Thank you so much for joining us. So just in the last hour and his address to the general assembly, President Biden called for restraint and israels fight against hezbollah as you know, yesterday, was the single deadliest day in lebanon since 2006. Do you consider this conflict an allout war now between Israel And Hezbollah . Abene we have, no desire for escalation with hezbollah or with lebanon. But at the same time, i year after the Attack Kovac double seventh that attack that followed from hezbollah against these. Well, we cannot sit idly by and wait for diplomacy either we speak, we continue with diplomatic efforts, but we are also taking measures to these grade the capability of hezbollah, that there will not be able to continue and attack israel and then what is very clear . We want to make sure that hes bella will obey the Security Council resolution 171, and it will move to the northern part, not next to our border. Once it will happen, either through diplomacy or through military action, we will have no issues with hezbollah in lebanon a senior State Department Official here in the u. S. Said that there is skepticism on the u. S. Part that this escalate to deescalate strategy as it pertains to hezbollah will be effective. Why why is israel so confident . That it will achieve its goals and not cause a bigger Escalation Or Conflict as you say, it is trying to avoid you know, we are not in a position just to wait and see what hes will drive hi to do i will decide we have waited for more than 11 months and now we decided to bring our weather dense. Who left the homes they are refugees about 70,000 israelis who left their homes in northern about the israel to bring them back to their communities in order to do that, we were going to push back thats what were doing. I hope that maybe the lebanese government, we will be able to put the pressure on hezbollah and to avoid a full conflict we will know what lebanon will look like. If there will be a full conflict with israel i think it would be bad for the lebanese people, and i hope it will not happen its interesting too. I just read a study out, though, that many of those residents who lived in northern israel, they dont want to go back because theyre concerned about security and other issues they are. And im wondering, as you talk about, you know, you hope to lebanon government will put pressure. Has the, when it comes just to a potential Ground Invasion and lebanon, the Israeli Military has not ruled out that possibility. What can you tell us about that and whether its an option that is still being seriously considered. They know i may said ldl, we believe further diplomatic apology and i will put in pressure and we have the means and capabilities to put pressure on hezbollah we will feel it they are feeling it as we speak if that will not help boo, we will discuss other options. But i think i will interest is not to invade lebanon. Our interest is not to go back to the days when we had to send our Boys And Girls to fight inside lebanon, we prefer a different solution. But at the same time, in our region, unfortunately, when you show weakness, your enemy let me they are bolded. An attack you mall, thats why what we are doing today. We are searching our muscles and we are proving to the hezbollah that they cannot continue without attacks so is israel than willing to accept a deal and lebanon, if hezbollah pools all of its forces back from the border, and if so, how far, what what would that look like . Is that enough absolutely. Pamela, last friday we had a discussion here in the Security Council and i approach the Minister Of Foreign Affairs of lebanon, and i told him, we can make a deal. In one hour. We have no dispute about territory. Are resources, or even sign the deal with lebanon a few years ago, about the energy and Natural Gas we thought all those issues, but we know the main parliament, hezbollah. So i think if the lebanese government will be able to put the right pressure on hezbollah you can avoid this war, that exactly what we want, that would the majority of the lebanese people want. I dont know if they are capable of doing it because hezbollah, they are holding the government very tight. And unfortunately they get orders for my won. The little from iran is speaking here at the un. But you know, at the same time he gets the applauses. You eat instructing hezbollah to continue with the war against israel i want to get your reaction to president Bidens Speech. We heard him give his last speech as president then to the un, and he talked about israeli violence against the palestinians and the west banks and the need for a two state solution. He did not mince words on that part. What is your reaction, what you heard . Heard from President Biden support of the united states our closest ally especially at a time when we are fighting evil so we appreciate the position of the u. S you know, we didnt support everything is said, but thats legitimate. You know, we have discussions we share with our foreign, our country sounds know, you can imagine that, you know, when one call for a ceasefire we have the hostages in gaza. Any mentioned . In the house to just few times in speech. And we appreciate that. But today, if someone can release the hostages then we can discuss ceasefire. But unfortunately deployed hamas, the has its limits and even with the goodwill of the u. S and other international players, you cannot influence hamas to release hostages, either to accept them i agreements that were proposed, Weather And Biden and his team proposed few agreements. We said yes, in may, we said may in august. And if there will be another proposal, we will hook into it. But unfortunately, hamas is not willing to negotiate any agreement with Israel Ambassador Danny danon. Thank you so much for your time. Thank you very much, paula. And lets continue this conversation joining us now is cnn military analyst, lieutenant general mark hertling. He is a former Us ArmyCommanding General for europe. And the seventh army general. Its interesting because one of the first questions i asked is, is this war now between Hezbollah And Israel . And he clearly does not want to say it as war that he made it very clear that israel does not want this to escalate into what he views as a war, but im wondering how you see it. Is this the start of another war between Hezbollah And Israel . Certainly a Conflict Pamela and its very difficult to not call it a war because there are fires going on from both sides. Its a Rocket Attack followed by hezbollah Rocket Attack, followed by strikes from israel to hit those Rocket Locations and also to hit the leadership of hezbollah. So it certainly is an escalation of a conflict. I dont think were classifying it as a war yet because there is no Ground And Air campaign for say but certainly it has the potential for that im wondering how concerned are you about iran getting more involved in this at this point when you look at what israels going through, it is squeezing every side given the war in gaza as well, that war is raging, you have this escalating conflict with hezbollah and you have hezbollah being iranian proxy. What is your concern there well, theres a lot of iranian proxies in the Area Family as you well know, not only hezbollah, but also hamas, but also the pmf forces in Iraq And Syria also hes in yemen, all of them make for a tough neighborhood for israel. And when we talk about israel strike, and i think the focus of attention has been primarily you showed a map earlier that showed all the Strike Locations by the israeli air force, but we dont seem to consider the amount of rocket launches that are coming out of lebanon toward thats the map im talking about coming out toward israel this morning as i get sitreps every day from the Area Situation reports from the area there were 50 launches inside of lebanon toward israeli territory before nine 9 00, there was another ten rockets launched into israel between nine and 10 00. Youre seeing the reaction of the israeli defense forces against those kinds of strikes. They shouldnt be just accepting these rockets launching into the area. And as you said a minute ago, there and the ambassador said there have been close to 80,000 citizens that have been taken out of that area some of them, as you said, arent going to go back and its because of the tension that continues between the lebanese and israeli border. All right. General mark hertling, always great to hear your thoughts. Thank you thanks, pamela. Still ahead this hour. Students at Apalachee High School are returning to the classroom today. Com today, this morning, students are back in class at georgias Apalachee High School its been nearly three weeks since one of their classmates shot and killed four people in the deadliest School Shooting of the year it will be a gradual reopening with half days and shorten classes for the next two weeks. And some students understandably are still uneasy about returning scared to go like and just because like is going to replay like i remember everything that happened. Its going to impact his very hard. I mean were never going to let this run i remember that this go, were not going to forget it. We cant forget it really, even if he tried its something you never think will happen like you pray about it every day like lloyd just let me go to school safe and theres a scary moment ever since that happened, you just have to be cautious about it. And its just scary going re just going one note that no worry in the world going in there having been stuck we know that back at these schools, these cases, what the school thinking, oh, hes going to be a regular Day Apalachee to go to school, minders, a good community in then this app in light lose rough, i still see my teacher i do its, hard, to sleep is hard to eat but i know im safe im protected. But i wish id never seen that. When you walk in fear, youre not going to like be able to focus or anything like that. Its gonna be hard walking down the hallway, passing by my teachers classroom. Its gonna be hard. Im not going to say that. Im going to be the strongest Person Everybody it is going to be hard for me i want to bring in cnns ryan young. I mean, just imagine how hard it would be right for these students as that young student was just talking about and all the emotion as these classes resumed today, tell us about that pam, i got to thank your team for putting that together, hearing those voices before this live shot by the kit you because you understand especially for those of us whove been covering this nonstop, talking to those kids, you realize theyre talking like adults. Theyre dealing with something thats so very painful. Youre talking about the loss of classmates and teachers, people that you look up two all day today, we saw sort of this weird dance between parents dropping their kids off, sort of looking at them as they walked out of the car, we saw School Buses coming this direction with all the Police Officers and extra security here, then You Saw all these therapy dogs that were being brought into the school and one of the parts of emotion here at 8 30 when they did the pledge of allegiance, we could hear it and you can see this Big School behind us. You could hear that Pledge Allegiance being read and then the emotion from the principle as shes walking the students back, basically saying she was there for them and the fact that they were heroes in the hallways and you could just understand how this community is trying to bring itself back together about a week ago, i talked to a student who got hit by shrapnel as he tried to keep the door closed and stop the shooter from getting into his classroom. Take a listen to him talking about that pain of knowing what was going on mason he was in the hall. I was going to rush him after him and he pressed and then it was christian mason was in your class he could have been me or worse i dont know. Pretty much whats going to happen next but i was gonna see bucha Quarter Funeral Funeral off the front you really wanted to be there i went to go see their parents to tell them what happened well, thats important to you kids are being asked to do something that even adults have never had to do. Every single Memorial Theyve had in this community. A lot of people have turned out hundreds of thousands of dollars have been donated to the families. But still theres so much healing that has to be weve done in this community. Pam, today is the first step really, with them going back to school. Even if its where halfday some cases hopefully get some normalcy back. Hopefully. But as we heard, one student say, you know, not gonna be able to forget what happened and running it through your mind and all the trauma that they went through. Were just thinking about them today. Wishing him all the best. Ryan young. Thank you. Well be right back where am i headed . Am i just going to take what the market gives me . No, i can do some research. Automatic protections for who can contact them and the content they can see. us Money Reserve is one of the most dependable Goal Distributors in america well, many americans have started Swapping Cocktails for mocktails as a way to cut back on alcohol nonalcoholic drinks, or not only showing up on restaurant menus, but popping up in bobblehead shops around the country. Dr. Sanjay gupta is on call to talk more about the zero proof movement. I got it. Se you know, after going through three pregnancy, sanjay, i had a lot of mocktails and theyre pretty good at some of the not like beer is actually tastes like beer. And this is an industry thats expanding and becoming more popular. Theres no question about and congratulations on the three kids by the way. Thats amazing. It is really interesting. I think this is primarily being driven by Gen Z, pamela. So, you know, 61 of people in Gen Z say that they are choosing mocktails more in pursuit of good health while still wanting to be social. But if you look across the country overall, about 41 of people saying that they, they want to start cutting back on their drinking. So these numbers have been going up pretty steadily. And if you look how that translates them to purchasing of mocktails and no or low alcohol drinks. Its been going up very steadily as well. So you can see the numbers theyre going up about 30 every year, expected to be 1,000,000,000 sort of within the night next few years, which is pretty, pretty incredible overall. We talked to the folks at athletic beer. You may have seen this product before. They said this that we looked into this 2018, they brewed 800 barrels of beer last year, 170,000 barrels of beer so it is a growing industry for sure. Some areas of it growing more than others, two important points. First of all, about 68 of people say that they would still occasionally drink alcohol. So theyre not totally abstaining from alcohol. And 93 of people who buy any of these lower no Alcohol Products are still often buying alcoholic products as well. So were sort of in this phase of transition in some ways, what people are calling the desire for intermittent sobriety. But it is a fast moving sort of trend and its driven again by some of the youngest in our generation which is so interesting, right, that its some of the youngest and the generation that are really embracing this trend. You know, but how much healthier are these nonalcoholic drinks thats the i mean, first of all, say that alcohol in and of itself. I mean theres no amount of alcohol thats good for you. I think that this has been a common refrain now for several years from the scientific community. But let me show you quickly when it comes to heineken for example, this sidebyside comparison, alcohol, no alcohol fewer calories, but more carbs that should be sort of the headline for you. Are you willing to trade the alcohol for a few more carbs . They add more sugar to give it that flavor. I think thats what a lot of people thats the Decision Point for them. All right. Dr. Sanjay gupta. Great to see you as always, and dont forget to submit your questions. You can use the qr, Qr Code on your screen and well have sanjay back to answer them later this week.
