I mean, this is an incredibly close race. This is one of the closest races weve had in decades. Theres no question it seems now that the Vice President got a little bit of a boost out of that strong debate performance. And thats clearly why shes asking for another one. And thats the same reason why were seeing Donald Trump be very hesitant to have another debate. It didnt go well for him. This race is incredibly tight. Voting has started, and anything small that can move the margins could make or break this race, including questions about Mark Robinson in North Carolina, a state where they were feeling much more confident weeks ago. And this was a state where they were they were feeling so assured that that the Trump Campaign was looking at expansion states now, they have doubled back and theyre really focusing on some of these swingiest of Swing States youll, lets talk about North Carolina for a second because of course, the continued fallout from what happened with this Cnn Reporting what weve learned about the gubernatorial nominee there, Mark Robinson, the question of course, really is this going to affect things at the top of the ticket and republicans, i talked to will point to evidence that in the past there has been a divergence from there who north carolinians were voting for, for governor versus who theyve been willing to vote for. At the top of the ticket, what are you hearing from your sources on how much of an impact this may have . I mean, again, in an incredibly close race, every little thing, especially at the margins can make or break array. This is somebody the who hed had on stage before he has praised him before. Hes endorsed and theyve endorsed each other. So its a clear sign of some distancing and some concern there you know, the republicans, are right, that this is a state where theyve if elected democratic governors before, but Donald Trump has won the state. Its not necessarily what we call a reverse coattails but it could, you know, the comments that Mark Robinson has made, some of those were already out there and offensive comments long before this latest Cnn Report, but they could be motivating enough that they could turn out people who might have decided to stay home and that would be the concern and the difference this time is that Donald Trump had been linked to this man. He did endorsed him, but hed also endorsed him again after a record, some of these comments that were seen as very offensive, some things on Abortion And Race even before this Blockbuster Report you know, talked to democrats who are from the south in particular, they they were saying things like what you point out. Cnns poll of polls takes the average of five recent polls and in three of those five, harris was ahead of trump outside the margin of error. This latest average taking into consideration polls taken after the last president ial debate earlier this month harris now challenging trump to a second debate in just a few weeks, as mailin and early Inperson Voting already underway in some states this election is going to be close. Weve always known that thats what happens in these president ial elections. It was Donald Trumps narrowest victory, but there you see the sienna College Poll well, 49, 47 in North Carolina, georgia, and arizona show that he has a slightly wider lead. There at arizona. In particular, my republican sources think is pretty much bond for the Harris Team thats one where Donald Trump seems to have a strong edge. Georgia still some questions about black turnout, whether that might change thing but i think youre seeing here why harris has spent so much time in North Carolina. You add this together with, of course what weve seen from Mark Robinson scandal at the top of the statewide ticket there. What do you make of these latest numbers . Yeah united talk about polls a lot and i think its important to note that the race is so close and thats exactly what these polls represent. Even if Donald Trump is up a little bit, or Kamala Harris is up a little bit. And in a lot of these polls, its within the margin of error and thats exactly what the campaigns are seeing. And thats why were seeing the campaign lets go to North Carolina lot, go to pennsylvania, lag, go to a lot of these states. And another thing is a lot when i talk to particularly Donald Trumps campaign. But Kamala Harriss campaign also, when we talk about the national polling, theyre more focused on these Battleground States. And so when these numbers come in for the Battleground States specific its ugly. Thats what the campaigns are really interested in for sure. Now, shelby, some of the big, The Big Picture trends to we can look at harris is favorability in that Nbc News Poll that dropped over the weekend. They had her at 32 Favorability Back in july lai its 48 now and now some of this is of course a reflection of people getting to know her throughout this. But i think one of the things ive been looking for is signs as to who is basically winning this war to define her. That was how the Trump Campaign talked about it when she entered the race. Thats how the Harris Team has been at talking it seems like there may be some signs in this polling that its the Harris Team that is succeeding there. I mean, the headtohead in this national, in this Nbc Poll is now 49, 44, thats a change from 45, 47 back in july. Again, i think youre correct to point out the campaigns are not looking at these national Shell Head to heads the same way theyre looking at the battlegrounds. But that number for Donald Trump is lower than it was, perhapflection of the way hes been running his own campaign as well. I mean, we know he has a floor, but he also has a ceiling know yeah, absolutely. And thats the big thing back in the primary when i talked to candidates and campaigns that were opposing Donald Trump, that was their big argument was he does have that sealing and i do think that Kamala Harris is favourability and her popularity is notable because it could affect turnout. How cited our people to come out and vote for her ultimately, a lot of people believe that this election is going to come down to turnout. So those numbers are something to keep an eye out on.
