Hes down by 12 points to harris among likely Women Voters according to the New York Times sienna poll. But is this a strategy that will be effective at this stage of the game . You know, It Is not really in a political Messaging Oneonone texts perhaps not to tell groups how theyre supposed to be thinking what they should be thinking about. Theres been this debate within the republican party of whether theyre candidates should try to find a winning message on abortion, which has generally been a losing issue for them since the Dobbs Decision or whether they should ignore it completely. Youre just telling women not that the ai, but clearly trump has had this weakness with Women Voters, particularly college educated women. I mean, both of these southern swing states georgia, North Carolina, are on a knifes edge and this has always been part of the reason that democrats thought North Carolina might be in play this cycle more so than last cycle was because there was this downballot ill erase that. It looked like they were in good position to win, whereas georgia, when it flipped for the first time in decades in 2020, was helped by the momentum from those two Senate Races being on the ballot at the same time, although they then went to the runoff and so that part of the reason that democrats have felt like North Carolina could be more competitive than georgia this time around when you see the state narrowly flipping from one side to the other, as in that chart that you put up, its not primarily because theres a lot of voters in North Carolina changing their minds. Its because different voters are coming out and so if you were republicans are coming out because they feel demoralized about that gubernatorial race, or they Cant Stomach Voting for their own candidate if more democrats are coming out because theyre enthusiastic to vote against a gubernatorial candidate that potentially helps the momentum at the top of the ticket. So its big part, even before these revelations, but even more so after these revelations, the Mark Robinson dynamic has been a reason that North Carolina was competitive. There was another Development Yesterday about the potential debate. Or perhaps not a debate yesterday, the Harris Campaign said that they would agree to have a debate in october. Cnn debate in october, trump. Meanwhile, indicated hes not so keen on doing so a lot of people that It Is greater entertainment ive already done to the problem with another debate is that its just too late. Voting has already started. Shes done one debate. Ive done two. Its too late to do another. Id love to in many ways, but its too late. This is 2012, this is the numbers right here and how he did with all of these key demographic groups. Hillary clinton did improve a little bit with 65 and over. And of course this according to cnn, exit polls, actual voters, how they voted but when we look at the, the Biden Path over versus Hillary Clinton, he did improve over her with noncollege educated, voters, male voters, and 65 and over, over Hillary Clinton by a couple of points, harris is behind biden all this should she be concerned . Well, maybe she is and maybe she isnt. One of the things i wanted to say as a prelude to this whole conversation is we are victimized by a flood of public polls and we treat each as if theyre stone tablets and not all that data is reliable. There are, there are organizations and campaigns that are doing steady polling that i think are a little bit different than this. There are areas where shes behind biden among younger voters, shes shes improved dramatically over where biden was this time. But shes still needs to improve on that. And particularly young men and young black men, which is a target of the Trump Campaign. These are areas of concern. She clearly there are voters hanging out here having made a decision, they tend to be younger i tend to be more influenced by the economy she needs to speak more vigorously and specifically about the offer to them and convincingly, shes very passionate we see around abortion rights. Shes incredibly riveting on that subject. She needs to bring the same passion to some of these economic issues. Lets talk about the blue wall. Those voters with male voters here we have maybe the votes are off, but i think we can probably agree that she is still this is an area that she does need to improve upon the Pennsylvania Wisdom on white man, male voters in pennsylvania, the Critical Battleground Say look at 60 to the third, well, this is one of those posts that im talking about. I think there is a margin. Theres a 25 point, theres no that shes trailing among man, look at michigan, but 15, maybe 50, maybe not, but you can be trailing that comes close, that comes closer. And wisconsin white likely but theres no clear leader here. So, you know, you she does have cast the one thing she does have a significant cash. Ive had 235 Million in cash on hand for the final stretch of campaign. So how if youre the cares campaign, do you try to cut into trumps advantage . Maybe not 25 points, but maybe significant in critical state like pennsylvania. Well, with this group, specifically white male vote yes. Again, i think the margin earlier about the fact that there you have to look at women and men together. And trump thought he could offset her advantage among women or biden but now hers with men and the fact is that she i think she is eclipsing him among women. Her margin is larger with women than his is among men. She has to keep that in place, but she has to obviously get her share. And again, i think especially in a state like pennsylvania economic issues are important, theyre fracking is a big issue there. Shes spoken to what she probably has to do more on energy in that state, but that Money Advantage is really, really a morton because to me that says she is she is beating him handily on telles collision, but also in digital, which allows you to micro target constituencies. And shes got like a five to one lead, yeah, terms of spending on digital advertising. So this ought to be a big concern to the trump camp. And of course, the get out, the Vote Effort as well. So critical here and thats one development that has happened over the last several days. One about the effort by the Trump Campaign to change North Canton nebraskas their reason for it. Theres a reason for that. This is a, of course, one of the two congressional districts, two states that award electoral votes by congressional districts. The other one being made, but there is this effort by the Trump Campaign to make it look every other State Winner take all strategy. Theres also this, what occurred . Also on friday, a board of elections in georgia ordering Hand Counted Votes of election date, ballots . Yes. These two things taken together, what impact does that have . Well, first of all, turn those three northern states balloon, though, the Battlegrounds Pennsylvania Pennsylvania ballot, we can do that so if you turn those states blue and gave all the others to trump, she would be a to 269 and he would be to 69. How do you break the tie . The second district in nebraska. And so this the trump people or so aware of this that now the governor is trying to change that. She is wellknown in prince Georges County, but hes very popular and has a reputation as a popular across the aisle, republican and i dont think this is the kind of story that you want to boost your Name Id and a competitive Senate Race and i think shes going to have to answer for it. Im guessing that Hogans Campaign will make an issue out of this. It sort of surprising to me given the money that was spent in the Country Pettit of primary that we covered, that her democratic opponent didnt uncover this before you did you know, he spent, a lot of money on other issues youve got spent of course ten to one in that primary, was he evaded david trone, just zoom back about where the race for the senate is. Just look at the map. So remind viewers about the challenge that democrats thats have to maintain the senate majority. Theyve already essentially lost west virginia. Thats going to almost certainly flip because Joe Manchin has retired. That, that puts it at a 50, 50 senate. Then they have all those battlegrounds in those blue states there that they have to hold that includes maryland there to potential pickup opportunities, but those are long shots of sorts. Texas florida is going to be tough for them to flip. There is a ton of money being spent across the airwaves, ohio being the top of the list. Its 67 Million for the democrats reserve for future ad reservations, 78 Million for republicans. Theres a lot of money in maryland, not as high as those on the list, maryland 11 million. So far . Democrats have spent compared to 7 Million for republicans. Republicans are spending more though in future ad reservations than democrats. Perhaps that those numbers could change though in the aftermath of some of this controversy well, The Big Picture here is its the defending a seat in maryland is the last thing that the democrats want to be doing in a cycle where they are on defense across the map as you say, you know, there theyve got to spend huge amounts of money to have any prayer of holding on To Montana and ohio, two Red States where theyre incumbents are struggling to put it mildly to survive and then theyve got all of these other Battleground States that are going to be hugely expensive Media Markets because of the president ial race, where their candidates, again, are either on defense or an open seats in very tough states. And then to also have to be Spending Money on a seat in blue territory. Its just a nightmare. For the democrats to try to hang onto it and it makes it very, very difficult I Cant or wont have a worst map for any party than the democrats have faced. Democrats say that they have strong candidates and they can still hang. Obviously the incentive to run the table, to keep it at 50, 50, then theres a question about what impact thats Kamala Harris have on some of those redstate democrats are talking about talking about ohio and montana. I caught up with the montana senator Jon Tester. Hes actually the one senator who is not endorsing Kamala Harris right now. And i asked him if though at anything to do with the fact that hes running in a Red State and trying to hang onto his seat well, youre not endorsing harris, is that if you did, it would be a problem for you and your client . Not at all. No, not at all. I want to talk about Montana Running against a guy from minnesota that does know montana. He wants to talk about Anything But Montana i want to talk about my count. I wont talk about Health Care. I want to talk about public lands on to talk about but distance. I want to talk about everything and he does not want to do that. Why because he doesnt know the issue, doesnt know any of those issues because hes not from montana and so thats thats thats the reason thats the only way her politics to let brought from montana our politics to live on. I mean, poll after poll has shown him struggling in montana you seeing democrats continued to express their anxiety and also maybe face a decision soon about do you continue to funnel money inTo Montana or possibly to another race . Maybe like taxes . Yes. Well, theres a chance we can try to pull some money out, no indication theyre doing that quite yet, well see how that ultimately shapes up.
