Unhinged rally in ohio for an hourandahalf, he delivered some migrants, animals and warning of a quote, bloodbath asked if he loses to joe biden, trump, spread more lies about the 2020 election saluting those convicted of crimes. On january 6th for their attempt to subvert democracy ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the horribly and unfairly treated january 6, tass ditches. You see the spirit from the hostages and thats what they are as hostages. Theyd been treated terribly, unbelievable patriots and they were unbelievable do you its nr that was met with fierce backlash from a handful of republicans, including trumps former Vice President mike pence, who has now refused to endorse his former boss well i think its very unfortunate at a time that there are american hostages being held in gaza that the president or any other leaders would refer to people that are moving through our Justice System as hostages. And its just its just unacceptable all right, lets discuss was he didnt political commentator, democratic strategists Maria Cardona and cnn political commentator and republican strategist alice stewart. Alice lets jump right into this. I do. Do most republicans think that people can convicted of committing crimes on january 6th are quote, hostages and patriot you have to think up many republicans in trumps base, going back to the very beginning, they believed donald trump when he says that there were widespread election fraud, they believed donald trump when he says joe biden did not, when i am the duly elected president , and they believed donald trump when he sought to stop the certification of the Election Results so those that went to the capitol that day, as were seeing here to quote, peacefully protest and then others that went into the capitol. Theyre listening to donald trump saying, these people are just doing the will of donald trump in order to protect a democracy but not theyre not patriots, theyre not hostage. No, no, thats insurrectionist. Theyre terrorists they cause the death of five police officers. They defiled Criminals Exam for big criminal. Thats exactly right. Yeah. I think what is so dangerous about this rhetoric and i know my friend alice is explaining to us why hes doing it and why republicans refuse to excuse it. And are turning themselves around in circles trying to figure out how to respond to this publicly. But heres why its so dangerous. Donald trump, leading up to january 6 was not even as explicit as he was talking about. Now, he talked about come to the capital. Its going to be wild and look what happened. He caused an instrument correction, which is why a Lot Of These Quote Unquote Patriots are in the media hasnt really paid a price thats right. Took place on january 6. I mean, look at what he said about the Auto Industry and what will happen to this country if he loses to joe biden. Lets watch were going to put a 100 tariff on every single car that comes across the line. And your dr. To be able to sell those guys. If i get elected now, if i dont get elected, its going to be a bloodbath for the whole thats gonna be the least of it. Its going to be a bloodbath for the country thatll be the least of it. But theyre not going to sell those cars now, but maria, The Trump Camp in alice, the Trump Campaign was very here. This is what the Biden Campaign said in response to all of this, they said he wants another january 6, the Trump Campaign refuted that said he was just talking about the Auto Industry and so on. Theyre crying foul over how this has been covered. But if you look at alice, if you look at the way he said this, its going to be a bloodbath for the whole than he stops. Thats gonna be the least of it. Thats gonna be the least of it. Its going to be a bloodbath for the country. And if you look at it in context, also where it says talking about the Auto Industry and a 100 tariff on every car thats bought into this country is talking about the Auto Industry and the impact of biden policies have on the Auto Industry just the yard i to i believe he uses the term bloodbath. He is talking about this in an economic sense. And you look at the word when thats gonna be the bathroom, its going to be a bloodbath of the country. Were talking about. The other definition of bloodbath is a severe loss in reversal. And this is used all the time when were talking about the stock market and the economy. And hes talking, look, i think this was a tremendous disservice. I love you, but im and i love you too. I think that lives. Let me tell you. I really think because, you know, was it out of context when you said very fine people on both sides outofcontext when he said we got to fight, like hell, you want have a country more. If i agree with ada context, what he said, can you back and if i can to finish what im saying. Sure. I this was taken out of context. Hes talking about the Auto Industry. Hes talking about the Electric Vehicle mandates that the Biden Administration is supporting and how that is going to devastate the Auto Industry. And hes basically sitting the message to people across middle america. The united auto workers, the actual workers, not the head, but workers really about what he called. Lets play those. What about what he called migrants, animals . Lets watch that if i had prisons that were teeming with ms 13 and all sorts of people that theyve got to take care of for the next 50 years, right . Young people theyre in jail for years. If you calling people, i dont know if you call them people in some cases, than not people in my opinion, these are bad. These are animals maria, i mean, i hear what alice is saying and you know, we have fiery discussion. Sometimes we all respect to each other at the end of the day but to me its really a stretch to say, well, these things are out of context or its just rhetoric and said this is just, its so dangerous. It, if it seems to be encouraging violence and when you dehumanize migrants, yes. Calling them animals. Thats exactly right. And maybe it would be more believable. What alice was saying if we were talking about a normal person, were not talking about a normal person. Were talking about donald trump. And he has a history of talking about violent rhetoric, violent actions. He knows that his maga, cult followers, that his supporters hear a dog whistle and theyre saying, oh, here is what donald trump is telling us to do. Thats why tenor is six happen. So when he talks about a bloodbath this is not the first time that he talks in these terms. Its cpac, his supporters were talking about a civil war. If donald trump lost the election, this leads to a bloodbath. This leads to death. What was killed on january 2 shootings, the whole issue about dehumanizing migrants. He talks about how your family and mine poison the blood of this country. Jim. Yeah, and that is not innocent. Talk that led to a shooting and el paso that led to the shooting in uvalde, these things do not happen without other crimes or not bloodbath. Why even used that line . Well, i know you advise a candidate. Again, the term is used all the time. Were talking about stock market the economy, and a tremendous loss. And thats what hes talking about here in response to the animal comment, he specifically, again, i understand democrats wanted to take everything out of context, but in this case, hes talking about ms 13, gang members, killers, gang members are animals aside from that, and im hardly at Trump Apologists, but im saying in that instance, hes talking about ms 13 and i will go on to say i agree with maria talking about poisoning the blood of those country and other references to those coming into this country are right over the weekend. He said he said he didnt know that hitler used that kind of language to describe the jewish people. But this has been pointed out in the News Coverage Time And Again that this is rhetoric used by it off hitler. And he watches the news all the time. So he knows hes seen the coverage. So over the weekend when he says, oh, i didnt realize that hes lying. I mean, why give him that benefit of the doubt . You guys know me. I hardly at Trump Apologists and if he does wrong, i will point it out, but i think in these two instances right here that are making headlines across every newspaper, you see they does it over. His point he can make the case that bidens Border Policies or disastrous to this country, he can make the case that his economic policies or disastrous to the Auto Industry, but he can do so with much less. Thats the problem. And thats why it makes it dangerous. And it makes it unacceptable. And thats why people like mike pence, bill barr, john kelly, people have worked for him sidebyside side have now said he is not fit to run the country and the right. All right, guys, thanks a lot. I know were going to have this spirit discussion Time And Again, really appreciate it. Thanks a lot all right. Right. Now we have big development. Pennsylvania man who was exonerated in november, more than 12 years ago, cj rice was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison for attempted murder in a 2011 shooting. Last year, a judge found that his Trial Counsel rendered ineffective assistance and had said that pennsylvania had 180 days to decide whether to retry him or free cnns jake tapper has been bringing awareness to the story, joins me now from philadelphia with this but very big development, jake, what can you tell us hey gem . So im outside the criminal Justice Center in downtown philadelphia. Just got out of room 805. Thats the courtroom where judge James Eisenhower granted the motion to by the District Attorney, larry krasner, to drop all charges against cj rice. Cj rice is now a free man cj rice has been completely exonerated people watching might recall, weve been covering the story for several years jay rice was the patient of my pediatrician father and my dad testified that in 2011, theres no way cj could have committed the crime this shooting, three or four people were wounded, nobody seriously, but cj in 2013 was sentenced to 32, 60 years in prison. As you noted largely because he had a completely incompetent attorney that was the cover story. I wrote a cover story for the Atlantic Magazine in 2022 called this is not giant justice, a philadelphia, a teenager and the empty promise of the sixth amendment, which guarantees people a right to fair adequate council and an attorney. Carl swartz, working with a number of other attorneys, filed a Habeas Petition not long after that and the District Attorney has now granted that Habeas Petition and the court has said, cj rice did not get a fair trial, did not have adequate representation patient the District Attorney has concluded that the case was week to begin with. The only reason he went to prison was because he had a bad attorney. And for the first time in the whole sorry, history of this case of the Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania versus cj rice. Finally justice has been served. Jim and jake. What led the District Attorney to this decision . Well, obviously, the efforts of the lawyers, cjs lawyers, emilia max field, with the Innocence Project and now the Exoneration Project carl swartz, there were others that helped on virility. The former obama solicitor general, people got involved. But what happened is the District Attorney investigated the case for themselves and found that a lot of first of all, that he had an adequate counsel and that Sanjay Weaver, his attorney, who has since passed away, should never have granted any number of things that she did in court. For example, a theory of the case that this was a retaliation there was no evidence that this was retaliation, but she granted that. But they also did their own investigation. They listened to Jailhouse Recordings of Conversation Cj had with his mom and which he was pleading to have his mom asks his attorney, Sanjay Weaver to please get the Phone Records because the cell Phone Records would prove that he was in West Philadelphia at the time of the shooting . Not in South Philadelphia is something that Sanjay Weaver never did, something that the Philadelphia Police apparently never did when they were investigating this case. Okay. So that was a big part of it. They also looked into other things that were very suspicious about the only person who said that cj did this as one eyewitness who knew him, didnt say didnt identify him the night of the shooting, didnt identify him to the hospital so now, but then after police said they got an anonymous tip that cj did it. Suddenly she identified him. They found her. Her testimony not particularly reliable, so they did their own investigation and they concluded that this needed to be done, that he needed to be exonerated in this goes to the issue of defendants not having effective representation it does. And in fact, i talked to cj rice for a documentary. Were doing about this case. Its going to air on sunday on the whole story with anderson cooper. And if we have time, id love to run just a little clip of that interview that i did with cj rice good to see you because it cej youve spent almost 13 years in prison. Has it feel to be out . Amazing he said the air tastes sweeter. Air tastes sweeter. The signage shine different. Its a different warmth. Affiliate a sudden, as a free man, as can put it in words. So these ladders from my dad, did you look forward to getting them . I did. Yeah, i did like a lot. Really. Yeah. Because its a constant. So you get used to constants in jail. But most of them are demeaning or not so personal but a letter with ink on it from somebody on other side of the wall thats personal, that makes you feel human. The canon concern as a father had for me it was genuine. My dad always says that we dont have a Justice System. We have a legal system, but theres no justice necessarily i can attest today. I can attest it. It so theres cj rice who is now 30 years old. He went into prison when he was 17 years old when he turned himself in hes now 30. He is a free man. His Second Chapter of his life begins today, and this really happened because of cj rights and because of my father, who never stopped advocating for him during these 12 plus years, he was in prison. Were going to have a lot more about this on my on the lead today at 04 00 p. M. Eastern, but also on the whole story with anderson cooper, we have a whole documentary ready . Its called justice delayed. The story of cj rice finally, a good news story. Jim, back to you and an extraordinary one as well. All right, jake, thank you very much. And well be right back knighted states of scandal, scandal with jake tapper. Sunday, a nine on cnn, i feel refreshed because im not struggling with the pap anymore. She looks great. We are learning their President Biden will speak to israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today. This comes just one day after the Prime Minister blasted Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumers call for new israeli elections in an interview with cnns dana bash, lets go straight to Cnns Kevin Liptak over at the white house what more you learning . This is the first phone call that these two men will have since february 15th. So its been more than a month and you can see in their cadence this deepening rift between the two men at the onset of this war, they were talking on a daily basis, weekly basis now they are talking much less frequently and we do understand that at points in their past phone calls that they have become quite contentious until you do see this rift emerging between biden and netanyahu fueled in no small part by that speech, the Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer delivered just last week calling for new elections in israel that would result in the ouster of Prime Minister netanyahu. Now, President Biden neither endorsed nor condemned that call for new elections, but he did call it a good speech and said it reflected many concerns that americans are feeling about this conflict in gaza. But certainly it generated a lot of anger on the part of netanyahu listen to a little bit of what he told dana bash yesterday. Its inappropriate for to go to a Sister Democracy and try to replace the elected leadership there. Thats something that israel, the israeli public does on its own. Were not a banana republic. I think the only government that we should be working on to bring down now is the time there is tyranny in gaza, the hamas tyranny. So that is the backdrop against which this Phone Conversation will take place later today. Of course, there are a number of other important issues on the table. One is this Hostage Negotiations that were resumed today in doha. Certainly President Biden im very eager to get a deal that would secure the release of those hostages, but also result in a temporary ceasefire. Obviously, President Biden also very eager to get you more humanitarian aid into gaza. End of course, they will discuss this pending israeli operation and rafah the white house says it hasnt seen a credible plan to protect the civilians there. So certainly a lot of on the plate for President Biden, as this call is set to occur this morning, jim all right, kevin, thank you very much. In the meantime, in russia, Vladimir Putin will maintain his grip on power after what the kremlin is describing as a Landslide Reelection victory. But in a surprising move during his postelection address, putin mentioned the unmentionable that is the name of late Opposition Leader Alexey Navalny mitchell did bureau look for mr. Navalny he passed away. She isnt it is always a sad event cnns Matthew Chance joins me now for moscow, matthew, what else did putin have to say . Thank thanks, jamie. Well, thats right. You did mention Alexey Navalny for the first time in wealth for the first time hes ever done it in public and he also confirmed the reports that weve been talking about for some time now, which is that the putin, that the kremlin had agreed to swap . Nexi navalny or agreed to talk about swapping Alexey Navalny in the days before his death as part of a Prisoner Exchange sort of interesting that that would come from Vladimir Putin. He made some joke about it, sort of offcolor joke about saint sayings, im not the only conditionally had is that Alexey Navalny never came back. Of course the opposition, the family of alexey number navalny Accused Putin of killing Alexey Navalnys something that the kremlin denies killing him because he couldnt, putin couldnt bear the possibility of him being released. And so its interesting to hear Vladimir Putins a version of, of what happened in that postelection speech. Jim all right. Matthew chance. Thank you very much. And join me now for more democratic Congressman Jake often clos of massachusetts congressman. Thank you very much for joining us. Your reaction to what the kremlin is saying there, refuting the white houses statement that the Russian Election was neither free nor fair, and we heard Vladimir Putin talking about us elections, talking about Alexey Navalny. What was your response to all that more lives from Vladimir Putin . Of course, the election was rigged and he did kill navalny, but also bravery from the russian people, not monolithic li, not homogenous asleep, but they did respond to the calls from the opposition to show up at their Polling Locations at noon local time to register discontent with a disastrous and selfdefeating course. That button were putting is putting russia on right now russia and america. Jim both have autocrats on the ballot in 2024, the difference is americans have a vote in a free and fair election. Lets hope that we use it yeah. I mean, since you brought up donald trump, i mean, i did want to ask you, we had this very spirited discussion at the top of the program with alice and maria. Your response to what trump was saying over the weekend and the Trump Campaigns and that he was simply talking about the Auto Industry when he was using the term bloodbath. I mean, we should note in the in his remarks, i mean, you can hear he talks about the Auto Industry, but he also says a bloodbath for the country if he doesnt win in the fall, what was your response to all that . I think engaging in semantics with donald trump on individual issues, kind of mrs. The Forest For The Trees for the last decade, both empower and while campaigning, he has established a regime that is xenophobic and nativist, that is autocratic, authoritarian. And he is prompt im us to not just continue that trend, but double down on it in a second term, he was the worst president in American History and his second term will be even more dangerous for our institutions. And in deed for our constitution and what i mean, what do you think is going to happen with Ukraine Funding getting back to russia and putin, the House Speaker mike johnson told republican senators last week that he was committed to finding a path for Ukraine Funding. Do you see that path right now . If maga, republicans have the courage of their convictions, they tell me privately, these reagan republicans that they support ukraine. I want to find a way to get it passed, but they wont say it publicly they listen to the same briefings that i listened to as a member of the china select committee, where experts ambassadors even tell us that in the indopacific to pick our allies, there are looking to see what happens in ukraine to see whether we have staying power against china they run campaign ads quoting Ronald Reagan in their districts. And yet when the time actually comes for them to support ukraine against russia, which Ronald Reagan would have been vociferous and steadfast about a shark. And the reason they shirt is because theyre afraid of donald trump. Theres no other way around it and just few moments ago, im sure you heard are kevin liptak over at the white house sanger, the president is going to be speaking with the israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today about the situation in gaza. What do you hope comes out of that conversation . What do you make of the Prime Ministers comments . He seems to be digging in his heels i shared the president s frustrations with Prime Minister netanyahus actions in the west bank, which i think undermine abraham accords. I share his resolve that before rafah operation there needs to be credible plans to protect civilians in the south south of gaza. I also agree though with Prime Minister netanyahu that the focus of american i are when it comes to which government to talk should be hamas. Hamas, which hasnt its charter. The destruction of the jewish state, the jewish people, a mosque which has promised to commit the atrocities of october 7. Yet again, hamas, which has violated five ceasefires since its been empower. Hamas needs to be dismantled before there can be enduring peace between israel and the Palestinian People all right Congressman Jake. Okay. And clos of massachusetts. Thanks very much for your time this morning. We appreciate it. Good to be with all i could be with you coming up protecting the police in portauprince, haiti. With the oraa ring Space Shuttle columbia, the final flight premieres sunday, april 7 at nine on cnn knew this morning the State Department confirming the first flight of americans fleeing the chaos in haiti has landed in miami its devastating over there that allowed people waiting to have the same opportunity to be here to get out of the chaos in a were glad karen administration is doing something about people get left behind american citizens. Patients have since there are left behind more than 30 us citizens arrive safely after escaping the violence that exploded in haiti as gangs have effectively taken control of the country, theyve been attacking hospitals and the airport as cnns david culver reports, even Police Stations are not safe Police Stations like this one here important brands are main targets for gangs. They feel like as soon as they can get hold of a stage in like this, they can then take sees you take control much of the community, and theyve tried coming after this one many of times reinforcements have been built up, not only because of the pleas, but because of the community, theyd go barricades all around here for the Police Station to function properly. They need to allies on the community and to have these almost vigilantes building a lot of the barricades to keep out any gang members and thats our david culver on the ground in haiti with that report, are thanks to him and former ambassador Stuart Holiday joins me now he served as United States ambassador for special Political Affairs at the united nations. Mr. Ambassador, thank you very much for being with us this morning and i know youve worked on on the haiti issue yourself. When you see those americans being evacuated and landing in miami, i mean, thats obviously very good news what options does the Biden Administration have right now for getting americans out of there and trying to calm the situation down in haiti. Well, on your first question, first of all, good to be with you, jim. Obviously the United States has Contingency Plans in place to evacuated american citizens. This current stage is a voluntary process in which people have to make their way north to cape haas yan in the north to fly to miami this is tough getting to the north because of the lack of control and security on the roads out of portauprince. But it appears to be working. But we may have to do more to the larger question, the opportunity here is, first of all, its a terrible tragedy. A longrunning cycle of dysfunction and violence, of course, which the United States has been drawn it into many times before the difference is now, we have an opportunity through this Transitional Council and somebody called the Montana Accords of patients themselves coming together women, church leaders, Civil Society leaders to try to shape and imagine a government, a Consensus Leader that could emerge, that could provide this kind of stability and Unifying Force that has been lacking as you know, one of the biggest frustrations from the haitian people and that led to this Gang Violence was the fact that the Prime Minister who came into office after the assassination of president boise was not elected. He was going to call for elections, but he never did. A lot of frustration about that. So they need to move forward. But this needs to be a haitian can wet process with support from caricom and the us and mr. Ambassador, i mean, haiti has struggled for years with this kind of instability and violence. But this feels different. It feels like things could really unravel in a significant way. It does in the main issue is the lack of governance of any kind of security and stability in the country. The games as you, its been well chronicle to attack the Police Chiefs home, have killed thousands in the streets it is absolutely essential in other 4,000 prisoners have been released for maximum security prisons. Thats why the Security Situation is really the number one priority and hopefully act with speed to get Us Multinational force in, particularly to the airport and the port and give people a sense of normalcy because this is probably the closest weve seen to a complete collapse in decades. And an you mean, you know, this haitians have been complaining for some time now about the heavy handedness that sometimes comes from the International Community and the United States i mean, there are lots of opinions on that front. But at the same time, i mean, without the International Communitys help, how does haiti get out of this . I mean, it sounds like just a real problem. It doesnt it doesnt get out of it without the International Community support. The United States can play a different role, of course, in 94 when president aristides was ousted, we said contingent of marines, major Un Peacekeeping force i dont anticipate that i see the United States and supporting with logistics intelligence, perhaps air cover if necessary around the airport. But the caribbean community, the caricom, and the united nations, recognize the failures of the past, whether its the issues with the peacekeepers and cholera several years ago, that theres a lot here to complain about. But theres no alternative than to look for a better way forward and to continue to engage but really tried to forge this political consensus among this trans, Transitional Council. That will be key, a Consensus Candidate the other thing that will be key is we have defelipe the gang members. This is the former coup plotter against aristides now been released from Us Prison Last fall. There are a lot of forces who dont want to ability brought to haiti. And we need to make sure that security a comes to the streets yeah, i could have huge implications for the region and for the us if this keeps unraveling Art Ambassador Stuart Holiday, thanks so much for your time. Com today all right, knew this morning, former cnn anchor don lemon just released his full interview with elon musk. And now were getting some insight into why the x, formerly twitter owner abruptly scrape scrapped don lemons deal with the Social Media Platform right after the interview wraps senior meter report, oliver darcy joins us now, oliver, i tell us more about this interview. I mean, we saw some clips late last week that seemed pretty fiery. How is the rest of it yet gym, its a window into elon musk is and how he thinks and i think what the big takeaway is as youre seeing, really how radicalized by the right elon musk, one of the most consequential People Living on earth, has become, im doing this interview. He attacks the news media. He misleads on diversity, equity and inclusion programs. He equates moderating hate speech really vicious hate speech on the x platform to censorship. He lashes out against the advertisers who left the plot form following his antisemitic endorsement, which you only walk back after he had lost effectively a lot of money when those advertisers left. And most disturbingly, of all, perhaps is he continues to advance some conspiratorial notions particularly one on the great replacement theory. This is a racist theory that has been cited by people who have committed Mass Shootings across the country elon musk says he doesnt believe in the theory, but then he gives a significant amount of credence to it. Lets take a look. You complaining two things. One is great replacement theory, the other is i dont subscribe to that. Im simply saying that there is a center of here if legal immigrants wish, i have a very strong bias to list everything. Its very strong wise to vote democrat the more that current the country, the more theyre likely to vote in that direction. But it is in my view a simple incentive to increase photos to democrat voters so you can see there, jim, he rejects the name of the theory that he effectively then describes and gives a lot of credence to of course, thats worrisome to experts who point out that this theory can and has led to violence in the past no its absolutely an important subject. And i guess ill folks might be wondering why are we giving so much time to this interview that don did with elon musk, but we dont hear from elon musk all that much in these kinds of interviews. So i mean, the information that don got out of mosque is actually very important. He runs a very very influential platform, a very influential platform, and she does rant quite a bit. Id say on the x platform, but its rare to see and confronted in an interview like this. And thats exactly what don lemon did repeatedly asking him a number of top number of questions that he obviously did not appreciate and i think thats obviously what led to him canceling that partnership with x toward the end of the toward the end of the interview gym. You can really see that ilan is no fan of don and it becomes clear that hes not pleased with how this interview has gone. Why dont we take a look at the end of the interview when hes asking about advertisers and you can really see that elon musks reaction obviously to your question carefully this five minutes left okay. But so is the same question you want to ask the same question is you said you said that they are killing the company, but youre the head of the company, but doesnt stop with you i acquired x in order to preserve Freedom Of Speech in america, the First Amendment and im going to stick that. And if that means making less money, soviet why would why would that question of say, you seem upset by it, i think you im not trying to say. Well, you are saying it because the way your phrasing the question is, i think is not cogent you can see there hes obviously very upset, probably not liking being confronted by some of these difficult questions. Jim yeah i love the way you elon musk was responded all that. Im a big supporter of free speech. The First Amendment, and don lemon, youre fired. I mean, give me a break you know what a hypocrite oliver darcy. Thank you very much. Coming up. Let the march badness begin. Get your brackets ready after a weekend of conference title game 68 mens basketball teams will soon battle it out. As the first bark bad does games tip off this week, cnn sports anchor, andy scholes joins how to break down which teams may actually win it all. Andy, look at that board there. Im going to be copying off of your brackets. Im going to start writing this stuff down. What you got. I didnt take some notes. Theres a guy a lot for you here, okay. Because its always been feeling this bracket out and trying to pick some upsets in the first couple of rows. But if you really wanted when youre bracket pool its all about picking that winner because more than likely the person who wins is going to end up picking the champion correctly. And does a stat that can help you do so its called kin palm and measures the teams offensive in defensive of efficiency and every team that is once its 2002 has been in the top 40 and offense and top 22 and deepen. So who qualifies right now . He got use in yukon produ auburn arizona, tennessee, North Carolina and markets have good teams did not qualify as youve got creighton, theyre just missed out. I would say, you see, they wanted a big 12, but they are not good enough offensively according to chem palm to win kentucky defensively, not good enough dupe, just missing out is two but according to the last 22 years of data, duke is not going to win this Years National championship. Another trend to look at the last 19 champions had been in the top 12 of the week six ap poll. What team is not here that i just mentioned . All burn is not there. Now, yukon is the defending champs is the favorite to win at all but since 1974, only duke in the 90s and florida in the mid 2000s were able to pull off backtoback titles. Its very hard to do in mens college basketball. Kann dann hurling, the huskies, do it. They could, but you might not want to pick them for this very reason now, if you lost your first conference tournament game like tennessee de in the sec tournament youre not going to win national championship. No ones ever done that. So you can cross them off. Now, id like to show this map every year. So this red line right down the middle, the country, every champions since 1997, jim has been east of that line. So you see arizona, theyre on the wrong side. So lets pull up the graphic i had up before we got arizona Cross Officer on the wrong side line, tennessee lost their first conference tournament game there across off auburn was not net week six poll. We cross them off. Im crossing off yukon just because it is so hard to win backtoback titles. So who should you pick . Jim houstons one seed so is produ in North Carolina. And if you look at history since 1979, number one seeds win in the overwhelmingly amount of the time, 26 times theyre and hey, if you went to one of those number one seeds gem like me, university of houston. Thats who youre obligated to pick. Im going with the cougars, but its just trying to have some foam with the brackets. Do thursday before the game start . Yeah. I went through a bracket last night and i had houston winning the whole thing two, so i hope i didnt jinx it there to my ears gym. There you go. And im rooting for my James Madison dukes to at least when the first round that would be great. Theyve had a great season andy scholes, thanks so much. Well be right back. Houston.
