Because i was terrified that i would lose my job and my reputation, because it would have been turned on a, she slept with a player. Because i know that thats what he told his teammates. Obviously didnt say, i raped her. Im sure, i cant imagine that they would have been thought that was okay. So he told some others. I was terrified to tell anyone that some wrong version would come out and i would have my reputation it has come out now. I cant prove, and so i would just be the subject of a lot of negative vitriol and ultimately he would not face any consequence. Kat, i know this was difficult. Its so important that you spoke out about this, that you tell your story and we really appreciate you joining us this morning to tell it again. Thank you. One more thing. Two things. One, i really have been just heartbroken by the volume of women who have reached out to me from friends to strangers to other reporters to say this has happened to them. Its an astonishing number and it breaks my heart. So i hope more people feel comfortable coming forward to tell their stories in some way. And secondly, also there are things that people as individuals young women can do. If your friend makes a joke, oh, she must have slept with that player. Say, thats not actually funny. You can help in ways small and big. Good point. Kat obrien, thank you so much. New day continues right now. Im john berman alongside breyona key letter. A Voting Rights bill blocked by one lawmaker who thinks she could lose her seat because of it. Plus ivanka trump and Jared Kushner now distancing themselves from the former president. Brandnew cnn reporting on whats driving them away. And the political surprise could make buffalo the first city in 60 years to elect a socialist mayor, and she is standing by to talk with us right now. Will a judge decide to free Britney Spears . The pop star set to speak out in court today as she tries to take charge of her own life. Good morning to our viewers here in the United States and all around the world. It is wednesday, june 23rd, and Senate Republicans say no to extending early voting. No to reforming Campaign Finance laws. No to nonpartisan redistricting, and probably even more important, no to the even debating any of those issues. Thats despite the fact that moderate joe manchin gave republicans what they demanded onds key issues like voter i. D. Senate Minority Leader Mitch Mcconnell said it is up to individual states to sort it all out, claiming there is really nothing to see here. Theres nothing broken around the country. The system upheld very well during intense stress in the latter part of the previous congress. Theres no rational basis for federalizing this election, therefore, theres no point in having an Election Debate in the u. S. Senate about something we ought not to do. Its bizarre logic because if its nothing that is broken, why are so Many Republican states commi committed to or blocking rights . He said it upheld. According to the Brennan Center 14 states passed 22 laws limiting voter access. We know there are so many more out there attempting to. Nothing is broken as the minority leader claims. Why conduct an embarrassing sham of an audit in arizona . Why all the lies about Election Fraud . Republicans sure seem determined to fix something there. Joining me now is democratic congresswoman Sharice Davids from kansas, the only democrat in congress who could easily lose her seat in partisan redistricting that would have been addressed in this bill. Well get to that, congresswoman. Who do you blame . For this bill failing to even get a debate in the senate . Well, its good to be here to talk about this. Its so important. I am so disappointed in my republican colleagues in the senate for continuing to block the will of the people. There are so many people in kansas who have reached out to me to tell me that they want to see the for the people act passed. And obviously you all said it yourselves. It is a huge failing on their part to even bring such an important issue up for debate, particularly when they are across the country, the Republican Leaders across the country are trying to trying to inhibit people from voting, trying to suppress the vote. And its true in kansas, were still trying to dig ourselves out of the Voter Suppression issues that chris komak got us into. Just then, just the republicans, no blame on democrats, joe manchin, Kyrsten Sinema and others who block the filibuster, no blame on the administration which supports what youre after here, but there are some who suggest joe biden could have been out there working harder on this. Well, the Democratic Party and i know the folks in kansas, the democrats that ive been working with have been pushing for this since before i even got elected. This was the for the people act was something that i was a strong proponent of to be at the top of the Priority List when i got to congress in 2018. And or 2019. And i think that what were seeing is really just obstruction from the republicans in d. C. , and then, you know, in states like kansas where we have republican super majority that is really trying to suppress the vote. It is clear to me that the republican electeds right now are really just trying to stop people from voting. Obviously nonpartisan redistricting was part of this. Republican states and democratic states. Thr lets be fair. There are some states that districts republicans out as well. You could easily be part of redistricting. The republicans in your state arent even trying to hide it. List tone what some of them said. The republican bill gives us four republican congressmen, it takes out Sharice Davids in the third. We can do that. We can draw four republican congressional maps. Do you think thats inevitable . No, i dont think its inevitable. I do think this is some of the most the way that theyre being so blatant about it, its insulting to the people, to the voters in the state of kansas, and frankly across the country. You know, i think that nonpartisan a nonpartisan independent Redistricting Process would be a win for the people. And i think that, you know, we can talk about individual members of congress, but really, at the end of the day this is about making sure that our democracy is strong. This is about making sure that the American People, all eligible voters are able to exercise their freedom to vote. Congresswoman Sharice Davids, we appreciate you being with us this morning. Thank you very much. Thank you. Obviously this is just one part of a hugely important week for President Biden in terms of his domestic agenda. Im joined now by cnn political director david chalian. Look, david, one of the questions i wanted to ask Sharice Davids, its good to you as well, what can democrats do about this . At this point in the federal level, theres nothing they can do. No, youre right. Well, theres one thing they could do. They could decide collectively to end the filibuster and then they would be able to pass this on 50 votes alone. That is something that was thats within Democratic Power to be able to do in the United States senate, john. But obviously joe manchin and Kyrsten Sinema have made clear publicly they are not on board with that idea. Democrats are doing what theyre doing. Theyre trying to take this now to the people to vote. Youre right. This is a big week for bidens legislative agenda. And issue number one, and Everything Else sort of pales in comparison inside the Biden White House right now, is this infrastructure bill. And you know these talks have been going on all week long in a bipartisan nature. Biden white house aides up on capitol hill meeting with a group of ten senators. White house aides say we will know by the end of the week most likely if a bipartisan infrastructure deal is in the cards or not. Pay attention to that. Weve been discussing Voting Rights. That went down in flames yesterday. The path forward totally unclear, other than to try and take it to the voters in the midterm election. Also youre going to see the agenda turn to policing. That is in the balance this week. Tim scott, the republican senator who is working with cory booker and house member karen bass on this issue, john, he says they must reach a deal by tomorrow if its going to get done at all. He thinks theyre very, very close. Others have said there are still major issues dealing with qualified immunity and other things to work out there. On guns, were going to see President Biden and attorney general Merrick Garland today address this issue along with the uptick in crime across the country. Guns and more largely crime is going to become a more present issue for this administration. And we talked about the filibuster, which is not an issue. Its just a Process Piece of this that this debate will go on in democratic circles about how you move the rest of this agenda forward. All of those things are so interesting. There are five things there. One is actually the biden agenda, the thing he said he is going to work hardest on is infrastructure. Thats the one that Everything Else, in a way, everything flows downhill from there because thats where he proves wants to prove he can get something done. Im not saying he isnt supportive of the other thing. He told us thats his priority. And its in two parts, right. If they get this bipartisan dillon traditional infrastructure, roads and bridges and tunnels, a, thats going to accomplish the goal of bipartisan ship biden said he really wants to accomplish, and it will spend new money, of course, on those things. But then its going to leave all that Human Infrastructure Biden also said is a priority. Whether its child care or Health Care Matters or other middle eastes of the biden agenda. That is going to be a much larger package in the fall and that is going to be something democrats have to do on their own. Both pieces of the infrastructure are the goal for the Biden Administration for the rest of this year. David chalian, great to see you this morning. You, too. Thanks so much for joining us. Sure. The race for New York City mayor hangs in the balance this morning. Right now erik adams is in the lead. Hes got quite a lead actually. Andrew yang says hes out after a disappointing fourth place finish overnight and cnn political analyst john avalon is with us. What are you tracking here . Because of rank Choice Voting, this isnt over. Adams does have a strong lead but hes got to hit 50 . Rank Choice Voting just happened in new york. There are going to be tabulations about peoples second and third choice. Adams is in the poll position. Maia wiley, in second place followed by catherine garcia. Andrew yang now out. As the votes come in, its more likely yangs and garcias votes would go to adams. A lot of the stereo types about deeply democrat big cities, new york is, 71, are not defactor far left particularly in a crime of far left. That was, andrew, Eric Adams One issue. The turnout is low. 750,000 people harry says it could get up to 800 or 900,000. Still pathetic. Which would be higher than any other democratic primary theyve had theyre. June is earlier. I respectfully disagree. Its the lowest in 50 years. You have to remember there are 3. 7 million democrats registered in the city. 750,000 turning out is around 20 . Thats not robust, especially because there is effectively not going to be a general election because donald trump killed the republicans in the city. New york city had 20 years republican independent mayor rule. Rudy giuliani and michael bloomberg. This city of 8 Million People to be determined effectively by 800,000, thats not great. Thats just not great. Rank choice can make it more representative, but this turnout is not what it should be for determining the strong mayor of americas largest city. 67 of the first place votes went to the more moderate candidates. 67 . Thats a pretty telling number. Certainly is. John avalon, thank you so much. Great to see you guys. Buffalo, new york, is on the verge of a big political upset this morning. This is the fascinating political story were tracking. Cnn has not yet projected a winner in buffalos mayoral race, but self proclaimed socialist is declaring victory over incumbent mayor byron brown in the democratic primary. He was going for his fifth term, by the way, and she would be buffalos first female mayor and the first socialist to lead a big city in the u. S. In decades. And india walton is joining us now. India, you declared victory. Its a little too early for me to say congratulations for you, we have not projected your win so we are still awaiting that officially. You are very much on the verge of victory here. When we go back and look at how this was covered, you know how it was covered. You were called the long shot. Now youre being called the upset. Were you surprised by the outcome . Not really. We set out about a year ago to do exactly what we did. We knew that this race was going to require help from outside of our local geographic area. We knew that we needed to garner National Attention to challenge a 16year heavily entrenched incumbent. And the people spoke. And so, you know, as you are a selfproclaimed socialist, youre very aware this has become a big issue politically. Lately republicans use this label as a political cajole and it makes sense they do because at the polls it works. There is a negative view on socialism. Historically what Socialism Means is putting the means of production in the hands of the people. The profits as well. It seems to be more in modern times used for not being profits for, you know, Say Companies Versus for the people. What are your plans for buffalo . How do you plan to use socialism and implement it in buffalo . My plan is to put our resources into community, into neighborhoods, and govern in a deeply democratic way that the people who are governed have say over the decisionmaking process and how resources are deployed in our community. How is that going to be different than the way mayor brown is doing it right now . Its a complete 180. We have lived through decades of the trickle down theory, believing that if you build it, they will come. And we have not built anything, many things at all for the folks who have stuck out economic downturn, population and job loss in the buffalo community. So we are looking forward to doing things differently, and im so excited that we are ushering in a new era of Progressive Leadership in buffalo, new york. And again, as we await the outcome here, there is still absentee votes that need to be counted. But youre on the verge of a victory here. Youre on the radar of folks today that you werent yesterday, and so i want to discuss your personal story because its amazing. You had your first child at 14, and you moved out of your family home. When you were 19 you had twins, and all of your children had medical issues, and you didnt have a car. You would take your babies with, i think, supplemental oxygen in the case of one of them, on the bus to their followup appointments, many of them, of course. And yet you became a nurse. And now you are on the verge of becoming the mayor of a big city. That story would foreclose the opportunity of this for so many people. How did you do it . Just believing that anything is possible. And what you set your mind to, you can do it. And were never alone. Were not built to be islands. And the myth of rugged individualism is a lie. And by Building Coalition in community, anything is possible. I owe everything that i am, every victory to the people who have been so faithful in supporting me, in believing in my leadership, and really building me up. This is incredible. Well, were going to continue to follow the results here as we are waiting for the final outcome in this mayoral race in buffalo. But india walton, thank you for being with us today. Thank you. Up next, strained relations in the trump family. New cnn reporting on the growing gap between the former president and his own daughter and soninlaw. President biden speaking just hours from now about the surge of Violent Crime. Cnns don lemon talks us joins us to talk to us about that, and many other things youll want to know about. And the free brittnee Movement Comes to a head with the superstar speaking for herself later today. Piano Playing here we go. [john legends i can see clearly now] make your reunion happen with vrbo. Your together awaits. Vrbo new this morning, increasingly strained relationships within the trump family, this is a fascinating story. Cnn learning that the two people closest to the former president during his time in office, ivanka and his soninlaw Jared Kushner, they actually have been distancing themselves from trump and his constant grievance about the, quote, stolen election. Cnn White House Correspondent kate is here with the details. Why is this happening, kate . Reporter as you said, this is clearly a former president who cannot move on, who continues to talk about, you know, everything from who betrayed him on a Late Night Comedy Sketch Show to the election that he still claims is, you know was not accurate. So, jared and ivanka were with him all the time, so much so that they were coined the javanka term. This is interesting. They do not want to be around nor do they want to be in the orbit of this continued not being able to move on, not being able to let go. And theyve made a very calculated and thoughtful decision to back away and not spend as much time with the former president who, of course, also happens to be ivankas father and Jared Kushners fatherinlaw. One person described it to my colleague on the story, gaby orr, saying its sort of like the parent who less and less stays in day care in the morning dropping off their child. Slowly jared and ivanka backed away and left trump up to his own abilities with people around him that are varying in terms of scope and conspiracy theories and people who listen to him and his rhetoric as he continues to not be able to let go of the 2020 election. To be clear in that analogy, jared and ivanka are the parents dropping their child, a. K. A. , the former president off at preschool. He is the toddler here. To what extent are you hearing that they are embarrassed by his postelection behavior and the sort of lies hes spreading about the election . Well, john, i think they would like people we talk to indicate that theyd like that he move on. This is something that clearly, elections have consequence. This is part of the consequence. They would like that he continue forward in different path, but they are not involved at all in any of the political apparatus. So these rallies that are being planned, the political endorsements, anything having to do with the super pac or the statements that come out, this is not something that Jared Kushner nor ivanka trump are involved in at all. Theyve really put some distance. And also physical distance. Remember, jared and ivanka moved to florida after the election to south florida. Well, theyre not too far from maralago where the former president lived up until recently. He switched to a summer home in bedminster, new jersey. But there were no sightings. There werent any extended stays at maralago as there had been in years past. So clearly this is a relationship that has changed dramatically since the end of the Trump Administration. There are some really Interesting Data points in your reporting, like Jared Kushners sevenfigure book deal. Sources telling you that trump is questioning if Jared Kushner actually did bring about middle east peace which, hello, no. What weve seen here in the last month or so. This is fascinating. Why would he be jealous over the book deal . Well, i think what weve learned about donald trump is that hes not happy about anybody who could possibly profit off of something he feels he facilitated. So if jared is writing a book and hes getting a sevenfigure deal, this feels like to trump, this is something that he is responsible for, that he had something to write about, so to speak. So behind the scenes there has been some talk about jealousy. Again, President Trump, former President Trump questioning what actually went on in the white house with Jared Kushner. On kushners side, the people we spoke with said this is just pretty standard that hes used to criticism from his fatherinlaw. That this is part of the cycle of letting go of the presidency as these critiques will come up. But certainly it has caused a i rift. Whats going to be interesting is that currently Jared Kushner and ivanka trump are on a road trip with their family, their Young Children from florida up to bedminster where they typically spend the summer where the cottage is cottages, large homes, the Bedminster Golf Club where donald trump and Melania Trump reside in the summer. And where ivanka trump and Jared Kushner reside for a large part of the summer when they vacation. Theyre really quite close to one another. So there will be now physical distance will be closed between the two. Both sides insist there is no estrangement, but certainly the people we spoke to said there is a rift. There is something going on here where these two sides that were really together almost every day, and jared and ivanka involved in almost every aspect of the Trump Administration from policy to messaging, onward, are now have nothing to do with whats happening with President Trump right now. Kate bennett, juicy reporting. Thanks so much for being with us this morning. Appreciate it. Road trip . Maybe a uturn at the Chesapeake House rest area, maybe. Right back down south on 95. The nfl, of course, is a big part of american culture. Its also a reflection of american culture. Its a microcosm of this country as the last few days have shown. Just look at whats happened here in the past week. Monday carl nassib came out as gay. This made him the first active player to do so. Over the weekend the bills colby said heed rather retire than get the vaccine and he challenged the preseason protocols. On monday night, the vikings jalen twyman was shot twice while sitting in a car in washington, d. C. He is expected to make a full recovery. On sunday the chiefs player was spotted with a gun in a car. Vaccine doubter surging violence, prevalence of guns in the hands of our citizenry are all on the leading edge of resistance to changes broiling our society. Lets talk about this and more with the host of Don Lemon Tonight and the author of this is the fire, what i would say to my friends about racism. It would be weird if it wasnt don lemon. What do you think about this . Great to see you. Good to see you. Im not here all the time. This is a novelty. Yeah, what do you think about this, that its a microcosm . It is a microcosm. We have a problem with gun violence and with crime, which im sure well get to in this country as it relates to the guns and the shooting. But the thing that vexes me is the resistance to getting the vaccine. So many of us got vaccines as children. Theres a reason people dont get polio any more, so on, so forth. To have an nfl player putting other peoples lives at risk by refusing to get a vaccine and then telling the nfl, well, ill quit or im not going to do it. The nfl should say, okay, and slam the door and move on and set an example. Look, what they did what professional sports did with bubbles in order to save the sport and to have the American People be able to enjoy the sports, they did it for a reason. They did it to save lives and they did it to save money and industry and business. Certain people saying, im not going to do it, they dont have to play nfl. In order to come to work here now, you have to, what . You have to be double vaccinated. You have to be vaccinated and you have to show proof of it in order to protect other people. It is the most selfish thing ever, i think, for someone to say, well, i dont want to, its my right. Okay, then its my right, its my bosss right to say, goodbye, don lemon, dont come in until you get a vaccination. If you dont show up for a long period of time, then goodbye. And i think the nfl and professional shorts should do the exact thing. Theyre in locker rooms breathing all over each other. The gun thing, were not going to solve it in this segment. It is an issue and we need to fix those issues. Don, why cant there be simultaneously Police Reform and a serious discussion about how to address the rise in Violent Crime in the cities . There can be. Right. You can do all those things. But politicians want to pretend that you cant. Politicians want to stop agendas. This president , im sure, i know this president and this administration wants to tackle the issues of gun violence, overall crime in this country. We need police officers. But we need good police officers. We need policing in this country. I dont think ive gone on the record, i think the whole idea of the idea of some of the things behind the defund the police movement, good. Should it be a catchall . No. Defund the police is the wrong term, it sets the wrong tone. Maybe they should be refunded. We should figure out how to use them better. We can have the conversations without being divided. Politicians want to exploit division in this country. Instead of looking at what the term actually means and how best to reform policing and how best to tackle crimes crime, they say, this administration wants to do this and they want to take your guns away. No one ever wants to take anybodys guns away. Thats never going to happen in america. In this vernacular, the division were seeing of wokeness, right . Even james carville, who is a democrat, but obviously very middle of the road, said democrats have a Wokeness Problem. I wonder what you think about that. I think the entire country has a Wokeness Problem because theres one side, i hate these catchall phrases. One side warrantsnts to use it pejorative. The other one no one can attain that standard. People are human, theyre fallible. We need to allow people to be humans and fallible. This country is supposed to be about restitution, second, third, sometimes even fourth chances. After awhile people do the same thing over and over, theyre ignorant about it, they cant be changed. Theres ra ecidivism, whatever e issue is. Then you start to make that decision. You have to stop cancelling people for one mistake or two mistakes or three mistakes. Ive gotten i dont know how many chances in my life. And i think that i am a good person. Im not, you know, im not perfect. No one is. On the other side, people want to be able to do bigoted things, racist things, ignorant things, continue to operate in a system that is no longer operable. They want to be able to do it with impunity. And thats not thats not the way it should be. The country is changing and evolving. There are more voices in this country. People of color and women have agency and authority now, and theyre standing up for rights and saying how they want to be treated, and you cant say, well, just because i cant be a sexist or i cant make this homophobic joke any more or discriminate against people, that woke culture has gone too far, its ridiculous. If you believe in the found being documents of this country, that means equality and equity for every single person, people who look like me, people who are members of the lgbtqplus community, women, everyone. Not just white guys. My issue with the discussion, im putting it in quotes, cancel culture, its a what is being fully canceled here . People when theyre being criticized or called to account for outrageous things theyve said or done, youre cancelling me because youre bringing it up. Youre being held accountable. You are being held accountable because you are being a neanderthal or sometimes a bigot. The teachings of religion in the bible tells us we need to be aware, we need to be awake. Not america, but the world, people need to wake up, right, and get to know and love each other. Thats the idea behind wokeness. So if you have any idea, inc. Ling, you want to be a christian, you want to live up to religious teachings or doctrines, then you need to be awake. Sometimes that means being woke. But it also means, what . Forgiving people. Allowing them to be human. Thats what jesus did. Thats what the bible teaches us. I love that. Thats a sermon. And let the church say let the new day say amen. Amen. I needed that today. Thank you, don. Thank you. You can watch, if you dont have enough of don in the morning, hes going to be back here tomorrow and friday with us here on new day bright and early. You dont see that. Anna morgan lloyd, the woman on the right in the gray hoodie, was pictured inside the capitol on january 6. She posted on facebook that day, quote, im here, best day ever. We stormed the capitol building, me and donna bissie were the first 50 people in. She agreed to a plea deal after being charged with a misdemeanor. Joining me is heather shaner, attorney for anna morgan lloyd. Thank you for being with us. One of the things your client did while asking for leniency from the judge was to point out she saw schindlers list and just mercy and that changed her perspective somehow on life. As my grandmother used to say, schindlers list and just mercy, what does that have to do with the price of fish in russia . What does that matter here . Well, what matters is that from agreeing, being interested in getting a library card, reading books, taking Civics Courses online, anna acknowledged both to herself and then to the court that there was a lot to learn about her individual responsibility and the relationship between a Citizens Rights and a citizens responsibility and anna im sorry. Im sorry. Was she suggesting because she didnt know enough about the holocaust thats why she stormed the capitol . No, of course not. I presented anna and a number of my clients with a book list, and they could choose to read what are you still with us . I think so. It went blank on my screen. Im sorry there. She said in addition to that posting i put up earlier, she said she was glad she had stormed the capitol so, quote, we can spread the truth about what happened and open the eyes of some of our friends. What does she believe at this point is the truth about what happened . What she believes at this point is that she was uninformed and misinformed, and that her presence at the capitol possibly empowered others who had more intentional ideas about what they were doing to behave violently. Britney spears is expected to break her silence today in a Court Hearing in the ongoing ba Battle Of Her conservatorship. She has not been in charge of her life or personal finances in 13 years. What will she say about her situation and will a judge decide to free britney from the courtordered legal arrangement . Im joined by liz day cocreator of the framing Britney Spears. Really fascinating documentary that i think certainly catches people up on what is going on here with Britney Spears. Liz, do you have any idea what to expect out of whats happening in court today . So, no one actually knows what britney is going to say today, but many people think that britney will likely talk about her father jamie who she has been fighting for the last year to remove from controlling her 69 million fortune. She signalled through a court filing, her lawyers failed that she was aware of this Free Britney Movement and folks who were involved in it took that as a sign she was endorsing what they were doing. How likely is it the public might hear from britney on this issue . So, again, we dont know for sure, but we think we are possibly going to get to hear from britney directly today. That was never really happened before for most of the 13year long conservatorship saga. Everything has been sealed away to the public. Your new reporting that you have says that Britney Spears has been trying to get out of this conservatorship which is extraordinary, that shes been trying to get out of this longer than we previously knew. You write as early as 2014 in a hearing closed to the public, ms. Spears Court Appointed lawyer said she wanted to explore moving her father as conservator, citing his drinking among other objections on a Shopping List of grievances. How significant is it that shes been trying to do this for so many years . That was surprising to us. Rerecently defenders of the conservatorship said things like this benefits britney. She could file to get out of it any time, basically implying that she wants to be in there. So it was really surprising to see that in the confidential Court Records she has been raising concerns about the conservatorship and pushing to get out of it far earlier than anyone knew. What were you most surprised to learn during your investigation . Probably two things. I was most surprised to see how troubled jamie and britneys relationship is and was. He was not around when britney was growing up. He seriously struggled with alcohol. To see that britney was raising concerns about him being conservator from the very start and, you know, talking about his drinking in court, that was really surprising. And the second thing i was surprised by was there is this Court Investigators report in which britney told the court investigator, im sick of being taken advantage of and everyone around me is on my payroll. That was very surprising because you hear critics of the Conservatorship Say that very often, that people the Conservatorship Profits off of britney. But to hear it from her mouth in this report was very surprising. So what are the range of outcomes here . You know, how likely is this to actually change . So, there are a lot of possibilities of what might happen today. Britney most likely will probably ask to remove her father jaime. But she could ask to end the conservatorship completely which would be a very big deal. And then there are just so many other options where she could ask for something specific, like about her stone, or she wants to get married. But we do know she asked for this on an emergency basis. So it appears that it will be Something Big and important to her. What are we hearing from her father, jamie spears . So, he did not respond to our the New York Times report that came out yesterday. But in general we hear his lawyer say he has done a good job as conservator, that he loves his daughter very much. I have an idea the answer to this next question is icy, but i wonder what you think, which is your Documentary FramingBritney Spears, and do you think that it impacted this, that it impacted the free and Free Britney Movement have impacted this case . Perhaps. The documentary and the Free Britney Movement had impacted the case, we really dont know whats going on inside of the head of the judge and the various lawyers involved. But i think britney herself last year said she wants more transparency, and she does not want her father to keep this legal battle locked up in the closet like a family secret. What has Britney Spears been doing over the past year . I know that we see her on social media. We do get some glimpses. But sometimes those videos she posts actually raise more questions than they answer. What has she been up to . We dont know. So, the conservatorship has the ability to restrict visitors to britney. So, people, journalists, for example, describe its very difficult to interview her directly with no conditions and do a real independent interview. So im not sure that anyone knows exactly whats going on in her day today life. What do you expect is ahead for her . Britneys lawyer said she is on an indefinite work hiatus, a work strike. As long as her father is in charge of her money, she doesnt want to perform and make more money for him. I mean, that is significant, right . So shes not do you think that will be a factor in this in at least shifting who is in charge of the conservatorship . It really makes me wonder, because one of the explanations for the conservatorship is to, you know, help herma manage her finances and rebuild her fortune. She is saying, i wont work and make money even for myself as long as this man is in control of my money. It makes you question how the court will respond, and will they continue to allow him to be in charge. We will be watching today. Liz day, thank you for being with us. Thank you. All right. Cnns coverage continues right now. Good morning, everyone. So glad youre with us. Im poppy harlow. Im jim sciutto.
