Elizabeth cohen. She joins us with the breaking details. What do you have, elizabeth . Alisyn, so the bottom line here is that we may soon have a third vaccine in the United States. We already have pfizer, moderna and with these results, its almost certain Johnson Johnson will be applying for Emergency Use Authorization from the fda. The bottom line, this vaccine does not seem to be as effective as pfizer or moderna but has impressive results and is still useful. Lets go over these specific numbers. The Johnson Johnson trial data shows that when you are looking at moderate to severe cases of covid19, it was 66 effective at putting preventing those, whereas moderna and pfizer was 95 . Those two were 95 . Thats a significant difference. If you look at preventing severe cases of covid19, which is the more important one, right . We dont want people in the hospital. We dont want people in the icu or dying. Johnson johnson was 85 effective at preventing severe cases. Moderna and pfizer were 100 or nearly 100 . So when i have asked experts, you know, what would you get . Which one would you get . They said, if i had the choice, id get moderna or pfizer. If i didnt have a choice, which you might not have because of the scarcity now, if i didnt have a choice and Johnson Johnson were available, i would for sure get that one instead. And maybe later get pfizer or moderna when theres more of a supply. So theres a gap there in the relative effectiveness between the Johnson Johnson vaccine and the ones weve seen from moderna and pfizer. Well discuss that in a moment. Another key piece of the science everyone is looking at so closely this morning, given the spread of the different variants from Around The World is how effective the Johnson Johnson vaccine is against the variant from south africa because theres a lot of data in this case about that. What have we learned . Thats right. So lab results have shown that this vaccine does not work as well against this South African Variant and now we have results in real people from Johnson Johnson and from another vaccinemaker, novavax that supports that. So lets take a look at those numbers. Johnson johnson, they found their vaccine was 60 effective overall when they looked at other countries but only 57 effective in south africa where that variant is becoming so dominant. For novavax, it was 89 effective overall but only 60 effective in south africa. This confirms what experts have been saying is that these vaccines will be effective against the variant from south africa, but they will not be as effective against that variant as they have been against other variants. John, alisyn . Elizabeth cohen, we really appreciate your reporting on this. Thank you very much. This is some information people have been waiting for, for a long time. Joining us now is dr. Paul offett from the Vaccine Education Center of the Childrens Hospital in philadelphia and a member of the fdas Vaccine Advisory Committee which means youll be looking at this data very carefully to figure out or to advise whether or not to grant Emergency Use Approval in the United States. As you look at this data for the first time, and the gap, frankly, between the effectiveness of the Pfizer Vaccine and what weve seen from moderna, from the Johnson Johnson vaccine and what weve seen from moderna and pfizer, what jumps out at you . Whats the most important thing here . First of all, these arent data. These are Press Releases from the company. What well see when we review this, both Johnson Johnson and novavax, submissions for an eua. Well have 100 pages to look at so i think well have more information. What i guess comes out to me is that if you look at for example the Johnson Johnson vaccine if you break it down by country, 72 effectivad preventing moderate to severe disease in the u. S. And 95 efofective as preventing serious disease. Preventing hospitalization, Icu Admission and death. You want to stay out of the hospital and stay out of the morgue. If you have mild infection, its somewhat burdensome to the p person but not terribly burdensome to the hospital. If everyone could get the mrna vaccines now, this wouldnt be a problem. 3. 5 Million People have received two doses of an mrnacontaining vaccine. Thats 1 of the population. We need at least 70 of the population. And thats going to take awhile. The other thing is Johnson Johnson is doing a twodose trial. So we should have the results of that also hopefully in the near future and worse comes to worse you get one dose of j j now and a second dose later which would provide greater protection. We dont know that yet because we havent seen all the data. Can you help us understand why this technology that j j is using isnt as effective as the moderna and pfizer . Not sure. The Messenger Rna, its a small naked piece of Messenger Rna that gets taken up into your cells. Then you make antibodies to the protein, which the Johnson Johnson technology is essentially the same except instead of taking this Lipid Nanoparticle in which the rna is encased, its a virus that cant replicate itself. So they are different technologies. They are different in their capacity to induce vigorous immune responses but the j sg j data, i think overall are encouraging in that it can prevent you from being hospitalized and from dying. And in a time where this virus is running wild in this country, and we dont have enough mrna vaccine, i think its a good sign, assuming that it gets uae approval, and well see. I had a chance to talk to dr. Fauci a few days ago. I said whats the bar . Whats the number that you want to see for Johnson Johnson. I want to play this response because its pretty revealing. Cant go much better than 94 , 95 , which is where moderna and pfizer are, but i would like to see the johnson j product come around near there, just maybe a few off. If you see it 20 less than that, then you have to be a little careful of that. Theres going to be some eyebrows raised about which one youll want to use. All right. The first part of that, its close on severe. It is 20 points down or more on moderate and severe. So you can see the dilemma this poses now because now people are presented with this question, and im hoping you have a clear answer. If you have a choice if you have a choice, between taking the Johnson Johnson vaccine, based on what we know, assuming the data bears out whats in the Press Release if you have a choice between Johnson Johnson or moderna and pfizer, what should you do . Again, if the mrna vaccines were abundant and we didnt have the manufacturing issues we had, you would choose the mrna vaccine, but thats not the current reality. The current reality is that we dont have enough mrna vaccine. We have another vaccine in Johnson Johnsons. We need to look at the data at the fda level. We have another vaccine which is highly effective at keeping you out of the hospital. Thats an advantage in a situation where we dont have enough vaccines. So i think people need to consider that. Were it me, were i not able to get the mrna vaccine and i only had the choice of Johnson Johnson, i would take it assuming that the data look good as we look at the fda. Id take it knowing theres probably a second dose trial out there which is likely to show its even more effective. And knowing, worst case scenario, frankly, and this probably doesnt preclude you from get an mrna vaccine down the line. Those two technologies shouldnt compete with each other. Well have to generate those data. We should mention you are on the fda Vaccine Advisory Committee. And so does this information that you are hearing this morning about j j, does that change what you are thinking on there, what you would advise . It makes me hungry to see all the data. We will eventually see the 100 pages of data. I would like to see how sort of things break down. We know that it was 57 effective in south africa as compared to 72 effective at preventing moderate to severe disease. How did that break down for severe disease in south africa . How good at preventing severe disease caused by a strain, the South African strain that no doubt will start to become more prevalent in this country. But this is stage one. Stage two, if the South African strain becomes more prevalent or brazilian strain, similar to the South African strain becomes more prevalent, we can still construct vaccines to prevent that and so that may be the Second Generation product. And thats no doubt going on right now. Again, you just brought up the variant that were seeing in south africa. The data is up on the screen. 57 effective. Novavax just yesterday came out saying 60 effective against the variant in south africa. We now have some data that the variant there, it, you know, is outrunning the vaccine more so compared to the than were seeing in the original variant. You just wrote a piece saying youre not as concerned about the variants maybe as some other people are, but does this cause you to reassess a little bit . No, i mean, obviously theres Laboratory Evidence that, if you are inoculated for example with the Messenger Rna vaccines, do those neutralizing antibodies neutralize the virus in the laboratory . We raised that question in the journal of the american medical association. How does that play out in the real world . We dont really have an immunological protection. Now we know how it plays out in the real world. Those neutralization in the laboratory did correlate with less protection in the real world. But if you look at the novavax, and its 60 effective in south africa against mild, moderate to severe disease. Sort of all disease. How did it fare against moderate to severe or severe disease because it may be and likely to be much higher there. And those are data we need to see and thats the difficulty with trying to make predictions based on Press Releases. Youd like to see all the data. Dr. Offitt, can you help us understand how concerned were supposed to be, how alarmed about the South African strain . The two cases that have popped up in the u. S. , these are people without known travel histories. So that means theres community spread. And if its one of these ga galloping varieties, and vaccines arent keeping up, it sounds frightening. Its not like theres no protection. 57 against severe to moderate disease in south africa where the South African strain predominates. Youd like to see against severe disease. Its not like theres no protection. I think there is also likely, you know, were going to have a Second Generation vaccine out there. I think what we should do right now is deal with the strain that is prevalent in this country, socalled d614 strain which is the first variant that came out of wuhan. Deal with that and then well be making vaccines against specifically the South African strain or these other strains as if they come up. And our continued attempt to suppress the spread and dangerousness of this virus. So i think theres a lot of reason for hope here. Thats how i see it. Dr. Paul offitt, are we lucky to have you this morning for this Breaking News. Thank you for helping us work through this because its a moment people have been waiting for. To reiterate, so people know, Johnson Johnson is saying their vaccine 85 effective against severe cases of covid. Less so, 66 , about moderate and severe. Overall, thats much less, not much less, it is notably less than we saw from moderna and pfizer, which is something that we will be discussing over the coming hours. In the meantime, new developments in terms of what the Republican Party plans to do Going Forward. Really, what they want to represent Going Forward as the country faces this pandemic, as the country faces economic crisis. House minority leader Kevin Mccarthy there showing you exactly where he wants the party to go. Thats next. What will republicans do about the Qanon Conspiracy Theorist in their midst. Marjorie Taylor Greene heckled a teenager who survived the Parkland School shooting and posted a video of her doing so. Then house leadership put her on the Education Committee. They also found posts of her endorsing positions including the execution of top democratic lawmakers. Joining us now, cnn White House Correspondent john harwood and laura baron lopez, a White House Correspondent for politico. Laura, marjorie Taylor Greene is not going away, and these were not secrets. Her positions were not secret. There was a mound were told of Opposition Research that her opponent had. People in georgia knew about her. And people in congress knew about her. Liz cheney, Steve Scalise went to Kevin Mccarthy to say, this is a problem if she comes to congress. She is a poisonous person, and she made it. She was elected. Kevin mccarthy, as far as we know, has not yet talked to her. What now . Yeah, youre right, alisyn. Politico had unearthed a lot of racist, islamophobic comments marjorie Taylor Greene made and Kevin Mccarthy at the time had acted as though republicans were going to help her challenger in that race and help never game. So right now, again, republicans are dealing with this same issue because marjorie Taylor Greene has made an enormous amount of comments that you outlined about threatening the Top Democrats or supporting threats to the top democrat nancy pelosi. And so right now the two options some of the options are expulsion, which is doesnt look at all like republicans are going to support such an option. They could also strip her of her Committee Post but that would be something it appears a lot of republicans arent going to support but democrats are going to probably push for because they dont really want to see her on those committee assignments, especially Education Committee p. I want to put up the picture, the excited Press Release we got from the former president of the United States and the endorsement given by the House Minority leader Kevin Mccarthy. The picture from maralago. I think we have access to that to look at the former president there and Kevin Mccarthy. Mccarthy, the House Republican leader said President Trumps popularity has never been stronger than it is today and his endorsement means more than perhaps any endorsement at any time. John harwood, it means more to him than anything hes ever gotten. Its like the best promise present. Its like a sled under the tree for mccarthy. This pat on the head from the former president. I think the most important thing now is when you look at his picture. What does that tell you about where the Republican Party is today and going to be tomorrow and what it means for the country. John, the issue is that the Republican Party has walled itself off against the realities of 21st century america. Demographically, economically, culturally. And they have, while doing so, been forced to appeal to a smaller and Smaller Group of americans, the people who are angriest about the way the country has changed, most bitter. They need that energy, that anger. That causes them to rely on extreme people, crazy people like marjorie Taylor Greene. They cant afford to alienate those people. They will do only what they are forced by events to do to distance themselves. When all of that anger exploded on january 6th, whipped up by President Trump, then they backed off for a moment. Lindsey graham said, im out. But the further distanced you get away from those extreme events, which everyone can see, the more they realize that is the fuel for our party. We cant do without it. Thats why theyre rejecting the conviction in the senate for President Trump. Thats why Kevin Mccarthy is going down to kiss the ring after, in the intensity of the moment of the impeachment he gave that speech on the floor and said President Trump bears responsibility. They realize, they believe that if they are going to get back to power at this moment, they cant afford to do it. There was a moment we all remember after the 2012 election, mitt romney lost, where the Republican Leadership said weve got to broaden the appeal of our party. And what happened was they decided they were going to do that. Then donald trump came along and bottled that emotion, that energy. He pushed that plan to the side and they just doubled down on the extremism, and thats where we are. Laura, it strikes me that republicans, given Donald Trumps loss in the election, might actually be able to have their cake and eat it, too, because they get an adult in the white house who is going to try to solve the economic crisis and the Coronavirus Crisis that were in. And they get to have their spiritual leader stay in maralago, not have to worry about governing or anything like that. But, you quo, make appearances for the candidates coming up in 2022 and gin up the crowd. Yeah, and the minority, whichever party is in the minority, but they tend to be able to just become obstructionists if theyd want to. And republicans, as we saw during the obama years loved to do that. And it appears as though theyre headed that route again with biden in the white house. As john said, theres no moment of reflection right now among the Republican Party. The further we get away from january 6, the more that becomes obvious. That rather than deciding or figuring out if they could create a constituency or confronting their constituents and saying that they did lie about saying that the election was fraudulent and that there was mass fraud everywhere and that trump won the election, which people like Kevin Mccarthy did do. Mccarthy said repeatedly that trump won the election, incorrectly. And rather than saying to their voters, that wasnt accurate and taking a turn, we saw over the last 24 hours whether it was mccarthiys trip to see trump in maralago or Congressman Matt Gates trip to wyoming to rail against liz cheney, one of his own Party Members that the republicans are sticking by trump and that theyre not deciding to take any turn to gather up new constituents or talk honestly with their own. John, if you are someone at home who doesnt care as much about party civil wars as others, and i think they are fascinating. But if your concern is really only when can i get vaccinated and will i get a relief check, what does this infighting mean for you . How will it affect whether or not you get that vaccine or that relief check . Well, the principal way its affecting when you get that relief check or vaccine is in the momentum for joe bidens program in congress. The Republican Party has now constituted, the people providing major financing of the Republican Party want government as small as possible to do as little as possible. Thats partly why President Trumps response to the coronavirus was so incompetent last year. He didnt want to assert federal power. And most what hes offered in a material way to his constituents is lies about, oh, im going to give you health care. Im going to save coal, build a wall and mexico is going to pay for it. He offered an emotional truth. Youre angry, im angry. Were angry at those people but not material advance for the lives of his own constituents. Joe biden is now saying, i can have a unity package. I can push forward a consensus package even if republican members of congress dont vote for it. Why . Because if you look at polling, people republican rank and file members want aid. They want vaccinations. And thats a propulsion for joe biden to move forward, whether or not republicans support his program or not. And its Holding Democrats together behind that program. John, laura, thank you both very much. So House Speaker nancy pelosi says the enemy is coming from within the House Of Representatives from colleagues who are making threats against each other. Up next, well speak with a democrat about how to protect lawmakers. It all worthwhile and it is love, love, love that cant help but make you smile. It is love, love, love. Send the love. Order now at edible. Com businesses today are looking to tomorrow. Adapting. Innovating. It is love, love, love. Setting the course. But new ways of working demand a new type of network. One thats more than just fast. You need flexibility to work from anywhere and manage from everywhere. Advanced technology. With serious security. And reliable coverage, nationwide. Forwardthinking enterprises deserve forwardthinking solutions. And thats what we deliver. So bounce forward, with comcast business. Developing this morning, cnn just learned the Acting House Sergeant at arms sent a memo to lawmakers advising them to, quote, remain vigilant of their surroundings and immediately report anything unusual or suspicious. The sergeant at arms and u. S. Capitol police are also now partnering with the tsa to provide extra security at some airports where members are traveling. Joining me is democratic congressman ro khanna and is the Progressive Caucus deputy whip. Thanks for being with us. What do you make of this letter, these new actions . How necessary are they, do you believe . I think they are necessary. I personally, john, feel safe, but some of the very highprofile colleagues, particularly women of color, there are a lot of threats. And heres my view. The congress is just like any other workplace. We need to have some basic workplace standards. If you were to tweet out something that was abusive about colleagues or threatening colleagues, you probably wouldnt be there. If you said im a cnn anchor and dont have to go through the security, that wouldnt be acceptable. Why should congress be any different . We should have the same workplace rules as any other workplace in america. The fence, the proposed fence from capitol police. They are suggesting that go around the capitol maybe as something permanent. How do you feel about that . Im saddened by it. One of the things i love about the capitol is anyone could have come and seen me. You cant go see the president. You cant go to the pentagon. Youre supposed to be able to see your member of congress. I understand why they are doing it, given the threat level, but i really hope this is temporary. It would be a huge loss for the country if that fence remains permanent. House Speaker Pelosi said something yesterday. I want to play it. She talked about who she sees as the enemy now. Lets listen. The enemy is within the House Of Representatives. What exactly did you mean when you said the enemy is within. What exactly do you mean it means we have members of congress who want to bring guns on the floor and have threatened violence on other members of congress. To what extent do you feel personally, physically threatened by other members of congress . John, i personally have not been threatened. I personally have some professional friendships with republicans. I go out to dinner with them and their wives. But there are some members who have actually talked about assassinating leaders. There are members who have defied bringing the Metal Detectors and police and insist on bringing guns to the floor. And all im saying is that should not take place. Now do i think its a few people . Yes. I dont think of the 435 people, i think 420 of them are probably reasonable. But those 10 or 15 people have to comply with the rules. But just to be crystal clear, you have real fears these people, whether its two, three, four, five or ten, they want to cause democratic members actual physical harm . Well, i just take them at their word. There are members of congress who, before they were elected have talked about assassinating secretary clinton, President Obama in tweets. Theyve talked about harm against Speaker Pelosi. So whether that is incendiary rhetoric or they plan to take action, the point is it has no place and we have to take precautions to make sure that that type of violence doesnt take place. Let me ask you about a matter of finance, a matter of legislation and a matter of, frankly, fascination to millions of americans. This has to do with gamestop and what were seeing in terms of the trading that has been going on really for weeks. Now yesterday something happened that is new and different here which is robinhood. Retail traders, regular everyday people have been trying to make some money in the market the way hedge funds have been doing it for some time, institutional investors. Theyve been doing that at the expense of hedge funds. Yesterday the way theyve been doing that, the method, the avenue they were using, robinhood, this app on your phone basically, was no longer available to them. It was taken away from them. What do you make of that move in general . Well, john, i saw chris cuomos excellent interview last night with the robinhood ceo. He asked simple questions and the ceo used legalese to evade. Chris cuomo asked him, was this a Liquidity Concern the reason you stopped . And robinhood ceo said no. Then he said it was a preventive concern, meaning it was a Liquidity Concern. They were concerned they werent going to be executing on the buys and they werent going to be able to cover their shorts. Three things he needs to ask next time hes on your network and answer clearly. First, why did they not have the Capital Requirement in reserves to make good on the buys . Second, he keeps saying he wasnt influenced or directed by market movers. But did he have any conversations with anyone to influence it . Did citadel ever call him or pressure him . Hes being evasive. What was the role of the Clearing House. The Clearing House is basically told people like robinhood to stop doing buys. The Clearing House, were they in conjunction with the hedge funds . The whole thing stinks and the people on television are giving lawyering answers. Chris cuomo pushed him and it was embarrassing to see the robinhood ceo use legalese. What do you think Congress Role should be in this . We need to have hearings. Representative ocasiocortez and Sherrod Brown have called for those hearings. They need to focus on the actions of hedge funds and Clearing House and robinhood, but they need to ask a broader question. How is it that we are allowing this Country Hedge Funds to short stocks then to get up on cnn or fox business and say the american people, go sell, go sell, go sell and to make billions of dollars while 50 of americans arent even in the stock market and wages are stagnating. This whole thing needs to be looked into. One thing thats going to come out of this scandal is reform of wall street. Ro khanna, thanks for being with us. Thank you, john. The highly contagious variant of coronavirus that were seeing in south africa, it is now in the United States. So what should the United States do to battle back against this . Should should kind of a travel ban be under consideration . A live report from south africa, next. Its hard to explain what depression feels like. But i can tell you what it feels like when someone offers to help. Every plan through covered california is comprehensive with Mental Health coverage and financial help for people who need it. Enrollment ends january 31st. There are a lot of things in life we want but cant have. Health insurance shouldnt be one of them. Covered california is making Health Insurance more affordable for millions of us. Even if youve looked before, you should look again. Enrollment ends january 31st. The Coronavirus Variant first discovered in south africa is now in the u. S. Its been detected in two people in south carolina. Cnn has reporters covering the latest developments on all the variants Around The World. Thats right. Here in south africa, we were at the vaccine site of Johnson Johnson here in sowetta. Theyre monitoring the people who volunteered for this. Just a short time ago, the head of that research came to us and asked us what the results are. Thats how closely guarded these were. The results are in, and it is somewhat disturbing. Far less effective against severe and moderate covid19, when the vaccine is used here in south africa where that variant is dominating and has caused a dramatic second wave of the virus. Now scientists fear that reinfection may have taken place to cause that second wave. And now you have those two cases at least in the u. S. With no travel history. The researchers did just tell me a few moments ago that 57 for severe and moderate disease is certainly still better than nothing. They were aiming for 60 at the start of all of this, but it does mean people might take a pause when looking to choose which vaccine they will take. Im Scott Mcclane in london. The uk variant has now shown up in at least 70 countries and most u. S. States. British Health Officials say theres a realistic possibility that this mutant strain of the virus is more deadly than the original, though the scientific jury is still out on that question. The new variant, though, is does transmit from person to person more easily. It spreads 30 to 70 more easily. Thats a big problem because regardless of the mortality rate, the more cases you have, the more deaths youll end up with. The good news is that studies have shown that vaccines are still largely effective, even on this uk variant, but that may not hold true for every variant that comes along. Remember that of the variants that we know about, the major ones here in the uk and south africa and in brazil, scientists could identify them because they were able to genetically sequence virus samples. Not all countries have the ability to to do that. I spoke with two scientists who helped identify the uk variant and say its likely there are other variants of the virus spreading in other countries now that are dangerous that weve never heard of because scientists in those countries just dont have the tools to get under the hood and actually genetically sequence the virus. Im matt rivers in the brazilian City Of Manaus where people are furious over the lack of governmental response to this latest wave of covid19 that is currently decimating this city. The Brazilian Health minister is under Criminal Investigation by federal authorities for his role in this latest calamity from brazilian president bolsonaro. The federal government did more than it was obligated to do in manaus, this despite the first three weeks of january, nearly four times the amount of people died here in manaus than in any other month during the pandemic. Republican Congressman Matt Gates railed against one of his colleagues, the number three republican in the house, liz cheney, and traveled to her home state of wyoming to do it. Cheney voted to impeach former President Trump after he sent a murderous mob to the u. S. Capitol. Joining us to talk about all of this, we have amy edmonds, Communications Director for congresswoman liz cheney. Great to see you this morning. So what did you think as you watched that rally that matt gates held yesterday . Well, you know, i couldnt help but think that mr. Gates knows very little to nothing about wyoming. I was, you know, interested that the main thing he spoke on in his 40some minute rant, it was pretty ugly, were things that have nothing really to do with wyoming. He didnt speak of the work that was done in terms of federal lands, leasing, ranching. He spoke on a laundry list of things really that centered around troop levels and Foreign Policy issues. Is it possible, amy, that the people of wyoming have changed in the past year . And the reason that i ask that is because our own reporter lucy kafanov went a day before matt gates went to talk to people in wyoming, regular voters, about how they feel about congresswoman cheney. Listen to this. You just cant go, well, i need to vote with my conscience. No, vote for what your people put you in there to do. You are a republican. Youre supposed to back your party, regardless. My view, shes done in wyoming. Trump is the most successful, effective president in my adult life. Were going down the trump road. And thats where we are. So i dont know if you could hear that. The first woman said youre not supposed to vote your conscience. Youre supposed to back your party. Yeah, as a former legislator myself and served in the House Of Representatives, i couldnt agree with that. We dont send our representatives to congress to do absolutely everything we expect them to do. We send them there knowing theyre going to get information and have thoughts about things that may not be completely the same as our own. And the reality is, lizs Voting Record in the u. S. House has been tremendous. Folks in wyoming appreciate so much she has done. Now do i think this Impeachment Vote has stirred up certain element of people who are unhappy . Yeah. And i think mr. Gates played to that crowd yesterday. I think he was happy to come here and to be a showboat and have the cameras in his face. But the reality is liz works hard for wyoming and shell be back here. Shell be on the ground. We do politics face to face in wyoming. Were a small state. Shell be shaking hands, talking to voters, going out and doing the things that they need to help get wyoming the resources we need. President trump is reportedly talking to leader Kevin Mccarthy about how to remove liz cheney from leadership and how to primary her. How do you think that congresswoman cheney will combat this or deal with it . Well, shell fight and shell fight hard. And i think she must. As a member of the gop myself, i think we are fighting for the Heart And Soul of the party. And i will be backing her 100 . I know a lot of people will. We have to move forward as a party. And that means we have to move forward with people like liz cheney who is a thoughtful lawmaker. She is a responsible and respectable woman and that is who i want representing me and who i want as part of my party. As you said, you worked for her. You know her well. I know that you have been in touch with her. Youve exchanged Text Messages recently. Is this surprising to her that she finds herself on the receiving end of all of this vitriol . I dont know that shes surprised by it. I think she has a much better feel for the president s character and for whats been going on in d. C. Than a lot of us here in wyoming have. And i think i also believe that her she has such a strong conviction about the oath of office that she took and her requirement to defend the constitution that she is at peace with the decision she made. And i respect that deeply. I want to play a little more video from the Matt Gates Rally just because i want people to see that there were hundreds of people there. But you saw Something Different in the crowd that showed up. When you look at their faces and you look at the people who showed up, what do you see here . You know, i have attended rallies. Ive seen things at the state capitol. A lot of these faces weve seen before. Theyve come out for tea party events. Many of whom i dont believe have ever supported congresswoman cheney. Meaning these are just sort of standard issue rabble rousers . You truly recognize these faces . Yeah, i do. Thats how small the state of wyoming is. Yeah, so these are folks of one of the gentleman you had on video earlier, or audio, ran for governor awhile paback. I recognize some of the faces. Some coloradans in the crowd as well.
