CMCH Man Charged With Sexual Abuse While a Cop in Bucks County
A man living in Cape May Court House was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexually abusing four teenage boys he encountered while he a Warminster Township police officer, dating as far back as the 1990's.
James Carey, 52, faces a total of 122 counts of aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, official oppression, corruption of minors and related offenses.
“A police officer’s creed is to protect and serve his community,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. “In a perverse and criminal dereliction of his duty, James Carey instead took advantage of his power and credibility while on the job as a police officer to sexually abuse our community’s most vulnerable: our children.
