CLEVELAND, Ohio — It seems people working in remote locations are not keen on paying income taxes to cities in which they have not been working during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, the Buckeye Institute on Thursday sued Cleveland for continuing to collect income taxes from a doctor who has worked from home in Pennsylvania for more than a year, asking it be declared unconstitutional. The filing comes a day after Columbus settled one of several similar cases filed by the conservative think tank. Meanwhile, county fairs are allowed to reopen this year in Ohio, but the 2021 State Fair will remain closed to the public. And the “orange barrel season” brings another long list of road projects for Northeast Ohio.
