Clean up, damage assessment starts throughout central Maine in aftermath of river flooding

Property and business owners were beginning to take stock Wednesday of the damage left behind as flood waters receded along the Kennebec River across the region after a storm dumped 3 to 6 inches of rain over a 24-hour period.
