City manager Randy Patrick said they want to bring in an engineer who “can actually make sure we’re doing the right thing on that roof,” said Patrick, so there are no further problems later on.
Patrick indicated that the issue with the roof is that it is flat and needs to have an angle to it.
Council voted in favor of hiring the engineer, with councillor Kent Lindgren saying it was “fairly prudent” of the city to do this work, “considering the history of the CUplex and the challenges that have been faced out there since the beginning of that”.
