The City of Fort Saskatchewan is moving forward with a new school plan, alongside Elk Island Catholic School (EICS) board.
At the April 21 EICS board meeting, the Board of Trustees shared that they had received correspondence from the City of Fort Saskatchewan requesting representatives from Elk Island Catholic Schools for their task force on surplus school sites.

The Board moved to have 2 trustees represent EICS at any upcoming meetings.
In an early-April City council meeting, the council approved establishing a School Site Agreement Task Force. The special task force will include mayor Gale Katchur, councillor Brian Kelly, councillor Jibs Abitoye, and representatives from ElCS, Elk Island Public Schools and Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord.
