Issues around parkland dedication and cash-in-lieu payments have become an issue of concern that some city planners ad members of the Missoula Consolidated Planning Board say need to be addressed.

MISSOULA — An effort to shift the appraisal of undeveloped land away from developers and place it under the purview of the city failed to win enough votes this week after several members of the Missoula Consolidated Planning Board saw it as a municipal “power grab.”
Others however suggested that developers and their selected appraisers couldn’t be trusted, thus robbing the city of precious revenues needed for parks and trails.
