Thirteen uptown parking spots could remain blocked for the duration of construction at 91 King Street in Saint John.
The parking spaces at the top of King Street have been blocked off since before the demolition of the old Woolworth building began last month.
Common Council approved the first two readings of the bylaw at its meeting Monday night.
The bylaw does include a deal to turn the currently closed lane on Charlotte Street between North Market Street and Union Street, which normally operates as a through lane, into seven metered parking spots including one barrier-free parking spot.
