Mark MacDonald served his final day with the Belleville Fire Department Monday after seven years of serving the community in the department’s senior role as fire chief.
The role of fire chief has now fallen to longtime firefighter Don Corbett, deputy fire chief.

Corbett assumed the role Tuesday of acting chief.
The city said, “Corbett will assume this role until the recruitment process for a new chief is completed. Corbett is a seasoned fire professional with a vast knowledge of the day-to day operations and administration of fire and emergency services departments, both career and volunteer.”
