Cisco To Acquire Sedona Systems To Boost Optical Networking Chops
The networking giant revealed its intent to buy California-based Sedona Systems for its NetFusion platform, which will help Cisco with 5G network slicing, routed optical networking, and disaggregation.

Cisco Systems plans to acquire Sedonasys Systems, also known as Sedona Systems, a maker of communications technologies.
The networking giant revealed its intent to buy Palo Alto, Calif.-based Sedona Systems on Tuesday for its NetFusion platform, its Hierarchical Controller (HCO) for optimizing, simplifying and automating network control.
The two companies did not disclose financial details of the transaction. However, Israeli business news site Calcalist estimated the deal to be worth $100 million.
