I wrote last week that we weren’t allowed to talk about Covid-19 and there’s nothing I like less than being told what to do — even by myself. So in advance of our Covid-19 inquiry next year, I want to talk bluntly about our response to the pandemic. In March 2020, in the wake of the first cases here, we went into full lockdown. We were told to stay home from work and school for “a few weeks”, to stay within 2km of our homes and to only venture out for food or medicine.
