Church hosts giveaway for families impacted by ice storm power outages

NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. -- While the lights are finally back on for most families in rural Virginia, they still have a lot of catching up to do after weeks without power.
Volunteers with Mount Gilead church in Chesterfield organized an outreach event at Nottoway High School in Blackstone Saturday.
The congregation handed out meals, water, and essential items to folks whose food may have gone bad because of an outage or because they had to spend extra money to keep a generator going.
