CHULA VISTA —
Larry Millete is a “person of interest” in the January disappearance of his wife and mother of his three children, Maya “May” Millete, the Chula Vista Police Department said Thursday.
Larry Millete is the last person known to have seen his wife on Jan. 7 in the eastern Chula Vista house where the family lives. The couple reportedly had an argument before Maya Millete stopped responding to the family text chain and missed their oldest child’s 11th birthday and a planned family trip to Big Bear.
But even while seizing his guns and searching his home, police had not identified Larry Millete as a person of interest in the case until Thursday. CBS News8 first reported Wednesday that a deputy city attorney had used that phrase when referring to Millete during a Superior Court hearing about whether to make records related to the gun violence restraining order public.
