Christchurch pizza company's future still unknown after fire destroyed factory

The Hillsborough site has since been completely cleared of any rubble.
Before it was destroyed, the factory was able to produce more than 30,000 pizzas a day for supermarkets across New Zealand.

Fenz Woolston station officer Nick Brown earlier told
Stuff the factory collapsed in the fire because the walls were made of aluminium and polystyrene.
“The polystyrene melts and the strength has gone.”
He said the collapse of the building made it hard for firefighters to access hot spots.

Romano’s Food Group Limited began in 1975 in Christchurch as a maker of fine pastry under the name of Maxwell’s Pastry. The company’s first location was a small shop on Ferry Rd in Woolston.
