Probe team found that CCTV cameras inside Chitrakoot jail in UP were not working a shootout between inmates on May 14 left three dead, including notorious gangster Mukim Kala. Along with jail superintendent and jailor, three warders have also been suspended.

In what could be described as a reflection of the poor state of affairs in the Chitrakoot jail, it has come to light that CCTV cameras installed in the UP jail were non-functional when three inmates were killed in a shootout on Friday morning.
