Emergency operation as nine-year-old falls while out near quarry
A CHILD had to be rescued after they slipped and fell while out walking.
The Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were called to Jamestone Quarry, off the Grane Road, shortly before 3.30pm on Sunday.
Originally, calls had been made to the ambulance service, who in turn called the MRT due to the location of the incident.
A spokesman said: “The second call out of the day was received from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) shortly before 15:30, to assist with a nine year old who had slipped and injured themselves whilst out walking near Jamestone Quarry, off of Grane Road.
