A child rapist who was once the prime suspect in the murder of Daniel Morcombe will walk free from prison after a controversial supreme court ruling.
Douglas Brian Jackway, 44, will be released from the Brisbane Correctional Centre after he successfully won a bid to overturn his sentence.
The convicted paedophile has spent all but three months of his adult life behind bars, after first attacking a 10-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl in the 1990s.
His release comes despite the sex offender being described as a 'biological psychopath' and warnings he could pose a 'high risk of re-offending' without supervision.
