A child was found dead inside of a car, according to Art Littlejohn with the Spartanburg Police Department.
Littlejohn said police were dispatched to the scene on N. Lanford Road just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The coroner said the name is being withheld at this time due to attempts to notify the child's family.
The investigation into the child's death is ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Spartanburg Police Department.
