A formal cheque presentation is being organized to recognize the community’s fundraising efforts for the new swimming pool.
Josh Umscheid, president of the Vulcan Lions Club, wrote in a Dec. 14 letter that the club has contributed $800,000 towards the $5-million Town of Vulcan project and requested the Town organize a cheque presentation now that this fundraising goal has been achieved.

“Now that that this first goal has been reached, it would be appreciated if a formal cheque presentation could be organized to highlight the community’s contribution,” wrote Umscheid in the letter, which was addressed to Tom Grant, Vulcan’s mayor.
