Checkpoint Surgical makes a leadership transition

The Independence-based producer of nerve-stimulation medical devices said Derek Lewis, its vice president of R&D and operations since 2018, has been promoted to president and CEO. Len Cosentino, who has filled those roles since Checkpoint Surgical's inception in 2009, will continue with the company as founder and executive adviser.
