Exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic and a shortage of affordable housing, homelessness has become an even more contentious issue for Oklahoma communities.
Itâs still unclear how the pandemic affected the population of people experiencing homelessness, but the problem has become more visible as the number of people experiencing unsheltered homelessness has increased, said Greg Shinn, Mental Health Association Oklahoma chief housing officer.
