A Chatham-based author’s new novel takes readers to the Bruce Peninsula area, where the protagonist finds herself investigating a murder.

Lethal Shot on Flowerpot will be released as a paperback and e-book on Thursday. It is the fourth book in her Travel Writer Cozy Mystery series, which follows a travel writer named Casey Robertson, her husband and her friends.

“It’s a retired reporter who is writing articles for a travel magazine and is travelling into small towns all over the place,” Young said. “I’m a retired reporter, so basically the characters are taken from people I’ve come across in my travels.”
