Chaska man killed in crash that shutdown Hwy. 212 Monday
Roads were covered in snow and ice at the time of the crash.

Icy roads factored in a fatal crash on Highway 212 in Carver County Monday morning.
According to the State Patrol, snow and ice covered the highway when a 50-year-old man driving a Dodge Dart lost control on eastbound Hwy. 12, crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound transit van.
The driver of the Dodge, identified as Jeritt D. Piotter, of Chaska, died at the scene, the crash report says.
A 45-year-old Apple Valley man who was driving the transit van suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska for care.
