CHAMPION — The Champion Board of Education already is moving forward with projects at the high school, as school district voters approved Tuesday the renewal of a 1.5-mill, five-year permanent improvement levy.
The board at a special meeting Wednesday approved a proposal from Plug Smart obtained through the district’s membership with the Interlocal Purchasing System, which offers access to competitively procured purchasing contracts, for installation of air conditioning to improve indoor air quality at the high school at $449,695.
Officials said a portion of the the costs for the air conditioning will be paid by pandemic relief funds.
