WASHINGTON — Northern Virginia Congressman Gerry Connolly reintroduced a bill to protect federal workers during the pandemic. It is based on the story of Chai Suthammanont, which WUSA9 first brought you last summer.
Chai worked in the kitchen in one of the childcare centers on Quantico Marine Corps Base. He died after catching COVID-19. Chai’s wife, Christina, said his death was preventable. She wants the changes in Connolly’s bill to better protect other federal workers.
