The CFMMEU and three NSW officials have been slapped with more than $1 million in fines for intimidating a crane company in a Federal Court bid to rein in the construction unionâs âinexcusable and unacceptableâ conduct.
Federal Court Justice Steven Rares found senior officials from the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union coerced Botany Cranes into reinstating a sacked delegate and signing an enterprise agreement in early 2019.

NSW construction branch president Rita Mallia, assistant secretary and former NRL player Michael Greenfield and another assistant secretary, Robert Kera, were fined for their involvement in unlawful pickets outside Botany Cranesâ depot in January last year.
