Ceremonial groundbreaking held at North Platte beef-processing facility

The rancher-owned Sustainable Beef meatpacking plant in North Platte break ground Tuesday. Organizers will kick off construction east of the city. It’s expected to open in late 2024 and employ 800 people to process 1,500 cattle per day.
