Synopsis
A top government official told ET that as of now the worker movement across states continues to be normal and no state has reported any major influx or outflux of labour as the restrictions imposed in industrial towns are for a shorter duration.
The labour ministry took stock of the worker movement in dozen states on Tuesday as industrial towns tighten restrictions to control the surge in Covid-19 cases. The ministry will hold a weekly review with these states to better prepare for any mass movement of workers as happened last year during the nationwide lockdown.
