WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester will celebrate the country's first National Borinqueneers Day next week.
The celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 4:30 PM in front of Worcester's City Hall.
The ceremony will include the raising of the Puerto Rican flag,  a performance of "La Borinqueña," the official anthem of Puerto Rico; a proclamation from Mayor Joe Petty and remarks by city leaders. 
National Borinqueneers Day honors the service and sacrifice made by the Puerto Rican military members known as Borinqueneers who served in the U.S. Army's 65th Infantry Regiment.
