San Diego-based Duckfoot Brewery Co teamed up with the Zappa Trust to create a new tribute beer, hilariously named Why Does It Hurt When IPA?
The name, of course, is a play on the late Frank Zappa’s 1979
Joe’s Garage track, “Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?” The beer is launched on Monday (Dec. 21) in honor of the star’s birthday.
The West Coast-style IPA, brewed with Zappa hops, Simcoe and Cascade, has notes of passion fruit, spice and the rocker’s favorite, grapefruit. The can itself features never-before-published photos of Frank.
