Cecil County Government: County Employees Adopt Road, Executive Sets Goal To Reduce Litter

Elkton, MD: In celebration of Earth Day, County Executive Hornberger and a team of employee volunteers announced they will adopt Belle Hill Road to pick-up litter and trash through Cecil County's Department of Public Work's Adopt-A-Road Program.

The Adopt-A-Road Program allows families, volunteer groups, businesses, and community organizations to adopt a stretch of County road to help clean up litter and trash and beautify our communities. Currently, there are 30 organizations that have adopted roads through this program. 
To combat road litter and trash in Cecil, County Executive Hornberger set a goal of having 15 new groups sign-up for the Adopt-A-Road Program by World Cleanup Day in September.
