Cebu Governor sues doctors for deaths of two brothers

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 16) — Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia has filed a case for medical negligence against two doctors for the death of her two brothers, who passed away after being cleared of COVID-19.
The respondents were identified as Doctors Elfeda Hernandez and Yvonne Betina Montejo, who attended to Garcia's brothers at Chong Hua Hospital in August.
The late Barili Mayor Marlon Garcia and former Dumanjug Mayor Nelson Garcia tested positive for COVID-19. Nelson died on September 1st, while Marlon died on the 6th.
According to reports, Marlon died of septic shock due to catheter-related bloodstream infection and ventilator-associated pneumonia. On the other hand, Nelson died of cardio-pulmonary arrest secondary to probable massive pulmonary embolism.
