The location near Cyffylliog is just a few miles from a previous sighting in Llansannan
It is also close to both the Denbigh Moors and Clocaenog Forest thought to be an ideal habitat for big cats should they exist here in the UK.
The encounter with the "grey" animal took place at around 3pm on Thursday, April 1.
In a report to Puma Watch North Wales, the group set up to investigate such encounters, Huw Roberts claims to have seen what could have been the same animal at around midnight a few days earlier.
Mr Morris said: “I hopped over a fence and saw a cat slightly larger than a Labrador in a field about five metres away. It ran away as soon as it heard me land and saw me. I was alone.
