The COVID pandemic has claimed an unexpected victim.
Space became a premium in school districts like Cass City, where students had to be spaced at least 6 feet apart. Every piece of extra space was used to accomplish that.
“The library at the high school was converted to classrooms last fall due to COVID,” said Superintendent Jeff Hartel. “It was a larger area that we could house students and remain socially distanced.”
Also, over the last five years, the library has been primarily used as a computer lab. So the library is being packed up for a variety of reasons.
