The Karnataka government plans to roll out the 'Anna Bhagya' scheme, which aims to provide 5 kg of rice to every member of a BPL household. However, as there is insufficient rice available, the government has decided to credit money to the beneficiaries' bank accounts instead. In addition to rice, the government also plans to include 2 kg of ragi and jowar in different regions of the state, as these grains are considered staples there.
