Cases Multiply in Asia Even as India Curbs Spread: Virus Update

India’s rate of coronavirus infection dropped to the lowest in more than six weeks, while elevated cases elsewhere in Asia led some countries to tighten restrictions. Czech cases continued to drop before a wider economic reopening this week.
U.S. sports stadiums drew in some of the largest crowds since the pandemic started, with weekly cases in the country at the lowest level in almost a year. Boston’s Fenway Park held its first baseball game at full capacity since the pandemic hit. Nearly 2 million people went through U.S. airport screenings on Friday ahead of the Memorial Day weekend, the highest since the start of the outbreak.
