The court is awaiting a forensic anthropologist’s report to proceed.
Drogheda District Court has been told a forensic anthropologist’s report is still awaited in the case of a man accused of the murder of a teenage boy.
Gerard Cruise (47) with an address at Rathmullen Park, Drogheda, Co. Louth is charged with committing the alleged offence in January 2020.
Sgt. Peter Cooney told Judge Eirinn McKiernan this morning that he was seeking a 4 week adjournment as Gardaí are awaiting a report from a forensic anthropologist following a search.
In putting the case back to May 24th for preparation and service of a book of evidence, Judge McKiernan marked the matter peremptory against the State, which means the case could be struck out if the directions of the DPP are not ready on the next date.
