Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Saleh Mohammed Tanvir today requested city dwellers to carry their National Identity Card (NID) cards on the day of city elections.
"It will help police understand that you are the voters of a certain area in the city as we have taken a decision to thwart movements of outsiders," the commissioner said while briefing at the CMP headquarters over last minute preparation for voting.
He also warned of strict action against outsiders' presence in the city polling centres, our Chattogram staff correspondent reports.
