One of Carol Channing's Tony Awards is expected to fetch tens of thousands of dollars at auction later this month.
But don't despair if that's a little out of your price range.
There are "different things of all different price points, things that a regular fan can bid on because it's not in the thousands of dollars," said Joe Baratta, senior vice president of Business Development for Abell Auction Co., which is handling the legendary actor's estate. He says some lots will have starting bids as low as $50.
The June 17 online sale will include Tony, Golden Globe and lifetime achievement awards, Broadway memorabilia, stage-worn costumes and a collection of original Al Hirschfeld drawings. Proceeds will benefit Bennington College, her alma mater, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Channing died in 2019 at age 97.
