Carl Hatcher Furniture celebrating 50 years

SEVIERVILLE — For half a century furniture shoppers have made their way to downtown Sevierville to purchase a variety of decor to make their homes more livable.
Carl Hatcher Furniture on Court Avenue is celebrating 50 years of service in 2021. The store is currently owned by Carl Hatcher’s daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Marty Duncan.
Carl Hatcher started the store with his wife, Lucille, but was already in the furniture business with his brother prior to its opening.
“Carl’s brother, Rube, started Hatcher Furniture, and then it became Hatcher Brothers in the 60s,” Marty Duncan said. “In 1970 they split, so in 1971 you had Carl Hatcher Furniture, and that was at this same location.”
