The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has mobilised and stands ready to offer support to St Vincent and the Grenadines as it faces the imminent eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano.
After Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves issued an evacuation order for those living in the red zone, several neighbouring countries have offered to house displaced Vincentians.
Among them are Antigua and Barbuda and Anguilla.
In a statement issued late on Thursday, CARICOM said the scientific team from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre (SRC) has been in St Vincent constantly monitoring the volcano and rendering scientific advice to the Government.
