The very first chair team on Cardrona ski area's new terrain, Willow’s Basin, was enjoyed by Timon Tasker, Sam Smithers, Harry Sinclair and Caleb McDougall.
A large new area has been opened at a New Zealand skifield for the first time in 10 years.
Cardrona Alpine Resort officially opened the Willow’s quad chairlift in the neighbouring Soho Ski Area on Thursday morning.
More than 1000 people attended the opening to ski and snowboard on 65 hectares of intermediate-level terrain.
Cardrona and Treble Cone general manager Bridget Legnavsky said people were “absolutely fizzing” to explore the new terrain.
