The United States Department of Justice has released the names of 13 individuals who have been charged in federal court in the District of Columbia following the riots at the U.S Capitol in Washington D.C. According to the statement released on January 8, approximately 40 have been charged in the Superior Court for offenses including, but not limited to, unlawful entry, curfew violations, and firearms-related crimes.
In addition to the above charges and arrests, several more complaints have been submitted with the investigations being jointly carried out by the FBI; U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; United States Marshals Service; U.S. Capitol Police Department; and the Metropolitan Police Department. The cases are being prosecuted by the U.S Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
